For the first time in probably 4 years I took a trip to Jaco. We took the new highway and it was pretty nice and took about an hour and a half from Escazu to Jaco. It was just a daytrip, so I didn't need any hotel information, but I do have some friends coming down who just can't wait to go to the beach and chase girls. So the question is simple, all answers welcome... I'd like the name of any hotel, whether it is monger friendly, monger tolerant or monger hostile. Also a general rating and does it have A/C or not. I don't expect anybody to have a comprehensive list but anybody who can tell me a hotel they liked, or one that is to be avoided, I will appreciate it. |

I've stayed at Clarita's. It's monger friendly, has a pool, is on the beach, and has a pretty good open air bar. You can get rooms with AC and it's pretty cheap. It's also a short walk to the Beatle Bar. The rooms are small but clean. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from the rooms on either side of you. It ain't the Ritz, but for the purpose of defiling young Latinas, it works just fine. http://www.claritashotel.com/ |

Hotel cocal resort and casino is much nicer than Claritas and more centrally located. http://www.hotelcocalandcasino.com/ |

It's been a few years, but I have stayed at both Cocal, mentioned by Planenutz69, and at Tangeri http://hoteltangeri.com and found them both good, convenient places. Cocal is on the beach, has two side by side pools, AC, and a casino. Tangeri I believe is a little closer to Beatle Bar, though I would still cab it with a chica - it is also on the beach, pools, AC, no casino. When I stayed there, it was chica friendly, though there have been many posts in recent years saying their policy has changed (okay to bring a friend - not so for swap-out visitors). Not sure how it would apply if you had one of their Villas along their entry drive rather the rooms by the beach and pool. Maybe someone else could elaborate. Also, I've never stayed there but there are the Vista Mar Condos right there with the Cocal for multi-bedroom options, which would be a possibility depending on how many guys are going and have been mentioned/reviewed by others on the forum. |

Clarita's is the place to stay for your friends. Period |

Agree with Brother Lowballz...at least for their 1st visit. Once they get the lay of the land (pun intended), other venues may be inviting. It's not at all like having your buds stay at the HDR 1st visit--Clarita's is lower key, right on the beach with other stuff to do (volleyball, horseshoes, other guy-type downtime stuff), very friendly, delightfully funky, near enough yet far enough from the strip nighttime craziness--what do you want in a beach community venue? |

I like the laid back feeling at Claritas & and there are few chicas to be had not like the Del rey or Beatle Bar. I'll be there tomorrow. Hey lowbalz when are you coming back? |

Here you can find out such hotels that offer nice services in affordable price as well. We should plan before travel; mean manage accommodation, source of traveling etc. so in this way we have no problem to face when we travel. |

...And would lurker Hokin12 truly be Hank Fried, hotelier to the stars, trying to bootleg a commercial announcement in here? Good luck with NYC--we got some hotels here could benefit from your signature makeover (can you say "Morazan" or "Clarion Amon Plaza"?) |
