No, no> As I said in another recent post, Clarita's is much more low-key, much more a Monger beach community venue. Stay there at least your 1st trip--you won't be disappointed. And use the daytime to check out other venues for your next trip.

Not like DR at all. Beach bar hotel, no casino, no chicas, watch your back at night.

I'm going to stay there for a few nights in June. Can you please elaborate a little more on "watch you back at night"? Do you mean watch you back if you plan on walking from the hotel to other places at night? Or are there issues AT the hotel at night?

A clarification would be very helpful to me.

In my admittedly limited experience at Clarita's, on the grounds you are safe. That long, dark L-shaped street to get to it is best done by taxi (not that a BB Chica is going to want to walk it in heels anyway).

I've stayed there twice, most recently this past week. Contrary to other reports, I have never seen a chica at the bar other than accompanied by dudes. I felt safer walking the streets at night in Jaco than in San Jose by far. It's pretty dumpy and I don't think I'll stay there again.
