I just got off the phone with the receptionist at The Sportsmans who informed me that The Lodge is booked for Halloween Weekend. I guest I should have booked a year in advance.

She suggested I try the Hotel Dunn Inn . I've been hearing a some talk about the renovations there.

Have anyone stayed there recently or know anyone who did and what are your likes and dislikes about the place?

i just stayed there over the weekend. had a very nice stay there. Food seems better and some upgrades to the rooms. I hear that the new expansion will be completed in the fall so you may be in luck there.

I love the place always have
It has its quirks but they are minor
Free coffee, cheap drinks, room safe, lockable mini- bar, great staff, free toast and fruit for breakfast, good Wi-Fi,good food, room sevice, and they change money at a decent rate.
The quirks, the new manager for the casino..... BK tuna... I swear he is a woman locked in a mans body :D :D :D Rumor has it he even paints his nails  Also watch out for his " girlfriend " I think she is a Nica hit man with implants

Dunn Inn is A OK in my book
NH guest since 2005

You can't go wrong at the Dunn Inn. Plus the "Oasis" casino should be open and chicas on site.

Nh,

You left Bk when you got that apartment and now it looks like you are trying to get back. Just say no Bk, Nh will put you down like a cold bottle of Imperial when given the chance.

I stayed there for a week last month. The construction started a little early, but that should be pretty much complete by Halloween. I agree with all the positives Nhhank had to say. I can't verify his remarks about BKtuna :D . They have two PC's and a printer at the internet station, so you always have contact to the outside world if you don't have a laptop. It's an easy walk to everything important. I will be staying there nine days starting in just eight more days.

Other than the new casino manager (Bktuna)  , I haven't heard anything negative about the place.

Thanks for your opinions. I'm sure I'll see some of you for halloween 8)

Since I haven't stayed at other places, so I really can't really give a comparison, but here are my observations.

+ rooms
+ food
+ cleanliness
+ security
+ location (Walking from Dunn o SL or downtown is good exercise for sure :D )
+ drivers
+ staff (Bk, front desk, bar, cleaning crew, security staff..)
+ huge mirror

Suggestions - Maybe darker or thicker curtains in the East facing rooms.
- ... can't think of one. Cab drivers honking? oh wait  that's anywhere in CR

Heartily agree with all the above + you get a nice piece of ham with the Continental breakfast. Also hairdryers in the bathrooms. Just an outstanding place--I've even had nice convo's with the a few of the eco-tourists staying there.
It's helpful to bring your own power strip or multi-outlet plug for your laptop--they're a bit shy on room outlets.
