Hi all,
Do any of you guys know of any cheap($10-20 a night) hotels in San Jose that are clean, close to the DR and guest friendly. I am not even sure if this is possible. But I just got back from 3.5 months in Pattaya and my boss told me I won't be working for another 5 weeks. Just checked travelocity and saw some cheap flights to SJO. So I'm thinking about trying to sneak a quick budget trip in before I go back to work. I have stayed in both the SL and DR in the past. These are way out of my price range and a lot nicer than I need. So do any of you know of any options for the budget monger?

Hotel Asia........ just kidding. Makes me wonder though if anyone has actually tried to stay there. I used it once, I have no idea why other than to see what it was like.

The Hotel Freebird's cheapest rack rate is $32/night but you might be able to negotiate a rate in your price range for a longer-term stay. Wouldn't hurt to ask and they are a CRT Sponsor. Not exactly close to the action but cab's are cheap.

The Hotel Tiquicia (another Sponsor and 1/2 block from HLH) has private rooms with/shared bath from $25/day. Longer stays could have lesser negotiated rates, no doubt.
