I am receiving some fake mails saying that i have won a british lottery. These people are making others fool and getting money from them & I want to see them behind bars. Where should i lodge complaint?

Certainly NOT here on CRT. You must have taken a left instead of a right somewhere in cyberspace and wound up here. ( unless you were promised chicas from Costa Rica as part of your lottery prize)

Brother VB is correct of course but try the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). Personally it ain't worth the effort--just delete it and ignore future emails. Your spam filter should have routed it to junk mail...and will, if you use the foxy one. OTOH if you want the best info on CR--Who's yo' Daddy?

Try the Nigerian Police, they have been doing a fine job arresting all the scammers.

I saw a piece on Dateline or one of those news shows where they went into an Internet cafe in Lagos (Nigerian capital) undercover, and there were rows and rows of Nigerians working the scams on the computers. Of course, then all of a sudden the police busted in and arrested everybody and seized the computers. They must have known the show was there taping and needed the publicity. Sort of reminded me of the MP raids with news crews.

There is a forum devoted to "scambaiting". It's where people string these scumbags along with the premise of eventually agreeing to the scam (British lottery, some great inheritance from some prince, etc). http://forum.419eater.com
