This was my first stay of ten days at the Freebird and I must say this is my favorite hotel. First the location is great close to the DR , Avenida Central and more importantly the Mps. Calle 11 is well lite and busy street so walking at night was never a problem. My friend and I had the two suites which felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. There isn`t air conditioning but you just don`t need it . The rooms were always cool and comfortable and with the best mattress I`ve slept on in SJ and with my back I know a cheap mattress. Dennis the owner was always help full did what ever he could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Normally after 10 days I`m ready to go home but at The Freebird I could have stayed another 10 days, it was just that good. This will be the only hotel I`ll stay at from now on. Thanks Dennis for a wonder full stay

lots of fun at that place....makes you feel more like a local than a gringo on vaca....dennis is one of us....pu*sy hound with lots of info.....having relax down the street is a nice extra and the walk from the DR seems less evil (but I always still take a cab at night) the steak house a few blocks away is a must do .....

yeh freebird is def a cool place. and that special they are having for spring looks quite good.
