Hey I had a quick question, something I'm just curious about... When you guys travel down to Costa Rica, when you depart Costa Rica do you get a Costa Rican exit stamp in your passport in addition to the entry stamp you get upon arrival? I heard Costa Rica didin't have an exit stamp...I'm just curious because when I was down there in January I got an exit stamp before I traveled onto Panama. Not an important question I know, it's just something I'm curious about in your own experiences Muchas gracias todos. |

I don't think so. If memory serves, they only check your passport when you're leaving, but no stamp. They just stamp your departure tax. Then again, after so many trips, I don't even pay attention anymore. ![]() ![]() |

I have never gotten an exit stamp in over 30 trips. It may have had something to do with going to Panama. |

When you exit at one of the land border crossings they stamp your passport. When you exit from SJO they do not. I think the difference might be the impuesto de salida form you fill out and turn in when you travel by air. Your portion would show your exit date if you need that for some reason. |

ID is correct! If leaving by air, no stamp. If leaving by land at a border crossing (Panama or Nicaragua) they stamp your passport. Now an electronic stamp at the panama border. have not been to Nicaland since they started installing the electronic machines so am not sure if it is electronic there yet. |

You get a stamp when you arrive. I leave from San Jose, always by air, and my passport never been stamped. |
