There's a good deal right now on Orbitz for LAX-SJO in June on Spirit Airlines for $233 total. Great deal!

It's certainly not the best itinerary, a 5 hr. flight to Ft. Lauderdale, a 4 hr. layover. then a 3 hr. flight to sjo but the price is certainly excellent. It's like the price those So. Fla. guys are gettin all the time!!!

Would it really be worth it to endure at least 12 hours of Spirit Airlines hell just to save a couple hundred bucks?

I don't know, I've never flown Spirit, just Continental to sjo. This fare is also good from Las Vegas & does beat Continental's best price by more than $200.

By the time you pay their baggage fees, seat fees, bottle of water fee, and whatever new fee they dream up you might cut any savings in half and still have to put up with 12 hours of arguable the worst excuse for an airline in the civilized world.

I usually fly Taca and think it is the best airline from LAX. I just couldn't believe the Spirit price. I think I am going to try to go to Bangkok in June anyway.

I did it one way.Let them keep the money for the other half and got a ticket on Continental. Spirit is probably the worst scam artist airline in history. I look forward to the day the Fed's shut them down.

booked my feb trip on us airways for 395 nonstop return. biggest hassle was even though it was just taca flight 604 i could not check in online 24 hours in advance because i was not in tacas system. almost missed my return flight as a result.
