I am planning on going fishing in Quepos but staying in SJ. I am definitely flying round trip and was wondering if it is a bad idea to wait until I get there to book it. I've been told to not book the fishing until im there but I don't want to be stuck without a flight. The problem if I book in advance is I don't know what time I will be fishing.s Any suggestions?

This is the high season. You definitely need to book it in advance. The sooner you book, the better your chances of landing the cheapest fare on Nature Air. Sansa's fares are the same no matter when you book them. Nature Air is usually cheaper, and they fly out of Pavas which is closer than SJO from the gulch.

I tried to walk up once in Tamarindo for SJO without pre-booking. The guy asked for my ticket, then they all had a good laugh at my expense when I said that I didn't have one. It cost me $200 for a one-way taxi to SJ.

You should book the flight in advance, often the flights are completely booked.
