I searched the site a good bit,but would like some current opinions. my buddy stayed at the sportmans lodge, but I hear a few negative things from others. thanks in advance. no one hotel, MP, cafe, etc...will be perfect....but the SL is about a sure bet as you can find in San Jose... however, if you wish to be in the belly of the beast, then you would want to stay at the Del Rey... the sponsor hotels on the site are all geared to your interests....The Dunn, Amistad, Freebird, hotel M, hotel little havana, etc.... same goes for the other sponsors such as the different cafes, sports bars, restuarants, tours..... however, maybe you will discover a new diamond in the rough establishment and report back with photos and a trip report! one thing is almost guranteed, you will have fun with little difficulty. |

I have to agree - for straight up mongering - the Sportsman Lodge is a great place - very laid back and a cool place. For more of a designer experience - Hotel M and just ask Michelle to send a steady supply of hot chicas (big price difference in the chicas) - If you are on a budget and want to sample as much of fruits as you can, then Del Ray, Sportsmans, and visit the MPs. Have a great trip and report back Peace, love, and puta vida for all, Don Rico |

...Another thought here--We have a lot of Brothers with extensive experience in both Thailand and the Philippines. Read some of their stuff, and PM one or more to share your SEAsia story. They'd know what venues here correspond with the venues you are used to there. Not totally apples and oranges...when we're talking relative prices, amenities, comfort levels, that kinda stuff. |
