FYI… For any guys in the Toronto area thinking about a trip to Thailand or the Philippines, EVA Air has announced that they will start flying out of Toronto as of March 28th. They have some good pricing for March – May if you purchase by February 28th: http://www.evaair.com/html/b2c/English/ ... YYZ_010401 EVA Air is a much better option than any American based carrier; I have used them several times and highly recommend them. EVA also offers a deluxe economy class that they call Evergreen Deluxe/Elite that is a much better seat for a couple hundred dollars more; well worth it on a long flight. Mendo |

Yes you get about an extra 5†in leg room and a couple of inches in width. The seat also has much better recline, a full leg rest and better width between the seats with individual arm rests (no fighting for the arm rest with the person next to you). I find that I sleep much better in the elite seats than I do in economy. From the west coast (SFO, LAX, SEA) elite class tix go for about $1100 all in; economy about $850. The difference is defiantly noticeable on the long haul; and well worth it. ![]() http://www.evaair.com/html/b2c/english/ ... _class.htm EVA’s economy is not bad at all in the 777’s because they are 3-3-3 accross, they are all equipped with AVOD entertainment systems and good looking Asian stewardesses to take care of you ![]() Unfortunately I have become spoiled now… the only economy that I will fly to LOS is Singapore Air; simply the best! I’m a believer in all that has been written about how great SQ is; if I can get an SQ economy for less that $850, I will do that over EVA’s Elite… if not, go EVA elite Mendo |

thanks, Mendobrew...appreciate that info. It's a hell of a long flight, especially for someone like me who's 6'3", but there's some good deals there. |

For those that dug around, what did you find for prices? Cheapest I got on a couple of quick ones for early April were 1300CDN or so. I tend to fly out of New York as the cost/time of getting to Toronto are about the same, except flight costs from New York are astronomically cheaper. |
