I love the Sportman's Lodge and I have the greatest respect for Bill and all that he does for us. I have never had a problem or a bad experience there but within the last month or so a noticeable change has occured, in my opinion. Lately every time I have come into Sportmans in the late afternoon or especially in the evening it seems there are lots of Ticos playing pool. I do not mind waiting my turn but I do not want to wait an hour to play....nor do I want to accept a different interperation of the rules every time I play. If a person wants to SPEND their money in an establishment then I respect completely why management would want them as customers. Since I do not see Ticos spending much money there (some even bring in their own refreshments) I am asking for a reality check. Certainly the pool table should be first and foremost for paying guests - I have the utmost respect for that. And I admit upfront that I am not a hotel guest just a guy in off the street. Is it just me or has a change ocurred? |

Hey Buddy, Whether they are Tico or Gringo just ask for the next game. They would need to give up the table, if not let me know and I will ask them to give up the table or go. Its that easy. Thanks, Bill |

I'm a little confused. You're complaining that Tico's are spending too much time on the pool table, but then - you admit that you're not even a paying guest of SL ?? I'm not flaming you, but I don't understand why you should be given "preferencial pool treatment" over them?? Respectfully, MG ![]() |

I would agree with Bigbambu's observation. Saw this first hand last night. Young tica, seemed nice but thought he should own the table till someone beat him. Saw him have a hissy about the table around thanksgiving. Bill |

Isn't that how it works? You put up your quarters and get the next game against the guy who "has" the table? ![]() |

Bill can't put a sign out front that says "Gringos only". This is Costa Rica afterall. ![]() Sounds like you need to improve your game if you want to play more often. ![]() |

Personally, I would rather spend my time having the available ladies handle my stick and balls rather than playing pool with my own stick. I can play all the pool I want back in Siberia. The way I see it, any guys just playing pool at SL means more chicas available for conversation. |

hmm I guess it all comes down to the cash... Are they spending money? If not throw em the Phuck out the door. If they spend money, c'est la vie. |

Usually I only get to shot pool whgen in CR (SL). It's a nice change of pace from being down on the farm. And, there is always a chica who wants to shoot a game or two before the bedroom pool shoot ![]() |
