Post subject: | Question about Continental Airlines |
I've flown TACA, American Air, more recently Delta to Costa Rica. Never flown Continental though and seems like they have the best fares right now for when I plan to travel.I was just wondering whether anybody had any comments, good, bad or indifferent about flying Continental. Thx. |

Ive flown Continental in October and booked with them again for January, no complains, flights were on time. Would like to find fare a lil bit cheaper, but they were on par with everyone else. |

Had no problems, but immigration in Houston can be a madhouse. |

Continental's fine, I prefer them over Delta to SJO mainly because of a TV in every seat with lots of shows and movies to choose from ![]() |

I've been using them regularly since about two years ago. I will be using them again this week for travel to Germany and a month later to Colombia. I prefer them over AA, Delta, USAIR, and a, willing to pay a little bit more to book with them. Never experienced any schedule issues. Bags to international destinations are free (within the specified baggage limits). Hot meals are still served on the international flights. The OnePass program comes in handy, and I can rack up miles using COPA and Aerorepublica, which are affiliate airlines. Continental just joined the Star Alliance last month, which means OnePass can be used to accumulate miles, or use them, on 25 different international airlines. |

![]() I know the 737 doesn't have that option. The 757 does. The music and movie option is awesome. Makes trip seem like a work commute. |

I could not disagree more. I have flown Continental from LIR and SJO through Houston at minimum of 50 times in the last 5 years or so. The only problem I have ever had was when returning from France and I had more than the maximum four bottles of wine in my suitcase. It can be a little bit of a long walk depending on what gate you arrive but they have the international terminal pretty well organized. |

Continental is the best airline to fly to SJO, IMO. I've flown Delta and United and I just have fewer problems with Continental. I've had my bags not make a flight a few times, but they always deliver them to wherever i'm staying. IAH immigration and customs is a breeze 99.9% of the time.. Even with a lot of people, the line moves fast and you're through it in 5-10 minutes. The only time i've had problems was when they were checking passports as you get off the plane last year. |

Next to Frontier, Continental has been the best for my trips into SJO or other places in Latin America. The only reason I put Frontier over Continental is the convenience of non-stop to SJO. Continental has often beaten Frontier's fares, and have always gone out of their way to help me change my flights at minimal penalty. |

Really? How do you get around the 150 change fee? Im Platinum for years now and since they started the 150 change fee they stick to their guns on it. Whats the line you use? A cold? Swine flu. I know they can lower that fee but the two times that I have tried to change they stuck to the 150 maybe just keep trying different agents? |

Just circumstantial, the last two times I have done it. One time, I even was able to change my ticket online and had no change fee. I think that flight they were oversold, and the flight 2 days later was empty! The others, I just cannot remember. But each time I tried sweet-talking the agent and it seemed to work. Oh WOW...I have having such a GREAT time and don't want to leave. Stuff like that. Hasn't worked for me everytime, by any stretch of the imagination |
