I just realized you have to start a new thread to do a poll.

Thanks again for all the input (serious and otherwise). We have made a selection of some finalists. Several are submissions from CRT brothers and are eligible for the prize. Ohters are from non CRT customers and are not. This poll is for input to our decisions on the contest winner and potentially the actula name of the Casino and Lounge.

Please keep ideas on what you are looking for in entertainment in San Jose coming. I read it all and have already received very good feedback that is helping shpae our direction.

I voted for Oasis because I think this is an oasis of relative calm in the otherwise madcap atmosphere that's the Gulch. BTW, how did you do with Brother Getman? Well, I hope.
PS- I probably didn't vote for the winner in the NJ Governor's race either--you just got to go with what you know or feel, not with the crowd.

Jim Getmen and his Buddy Randy are real musicians. They played happy hour here to a full house and then played the Sportsmens. They will be back at the Sportmens tomorrwo night (Thursday) for one night before going home. They are moving here in January and will be regularly playing at the Dunn Inn.

Having heard Jim Getman's sound clips, I'm looking forward to seeing him and whoever in January. Also glad that a serious American musician* can make a living in CR--of course those cheap fares to the Land of the Big PX and the Internet don't hurt. It just keeps getting better. * I sure don't mean to suggest that Brother Bilko, Brother El Ciego and unknown others don't qualify as a serious American musicians--they surely do--Brother Getman (?) has a CD out--that's all.

If I remember correctly, I think BKTuna said that they are shooting for Labor Day 2010 for the casino/lounge grand opening.

Yes, the hotel and our very nice bar/restaurant are open now. The casino and lounge are projected for Labor Day next year.

Much luck to you. Looks like a place with a bit more sophistication to hang out at. I like the fact that you narrowed it down to more upscale names and not silly ones. I can see good things in the future for your place.

The intent is a nice lounge with sports and music and a boutique casino where you can come in and hang out instead of the Kl and the Rey. We are going to focus on CRT type clients who want an alternative. It will be chica friendly, with a screening process and behavior rules for the girls. Drink and food prices will be reasonable. All casino rules will be Vegas standard. We are focused on comfortable lounge style seating (round chairs) that you can sit and listen to music or watch the wall of Tvs for sports (think mini Vegas Sportsbook)

I would play with Vegas rules, I do not gamble in CR because I have not found anyone with Vegas style gaming. A suggestion I have would be to have a slot machine with different girls on the reels in nasty poses instead of Bars or 7's as winning payouts. Hell you could even give out gift certs to the MP's for certain jackpots...... Just a thought
