I have made many trips to San Jose, but am about to make my first stay at La Amistad. Much about it sounds great, but I have a concern about their guest rules. How firm is that rule about 1 guest at a time? Am I about to stay at the Presidente East? I think I'll be able to live with shrieking train whistles in the morning if I have gotten a good workout before I turn in. What am I walking into?

I didn't realize there was a 1 chica rule. I would say pm "MKINK" and ask. Don't mention my post to him so I can say "I didn't know it was 1 chica" if the situation arises (and I mean rises). :D

Matt once PM'd me and said the 1 chica rule is only in affect to safeguard the guests and as long as the guest is quiet and safe they have no problem letting them in.

I am planning to stay at Amistad for my Januarty trip because of that PM. Not that I am planning to have 2 girls at a time but you can't expect anything in CR.

I've taken back Tamara, Karen and Gina from SL to the LA at the same time. If you are low key about it...should be no problema.

Maybe Almond can answer this for me.....

I am debating between the Penthouse at $139/night (I thought the penthouse was $119/night...do they have different prices on Penthouses?) and studio apartment at $89/night.

What do you guys recommend? Thanks for your help brothers!

Kuttappan, the apartment rooms are great if all you want is a king bed, small jacuzzi and a cooking area for a great price. There's only two of them though.

The penthouses vary. 310, 311 and 312 are all different from each other, and 201-203 are the newer ones, with 203 being the smallest of the bunch.

I called them the other day & asked, I was told that the penthouses w/jacuzzis are $139, w/o jacuzzi $119

I've seen 201 and 202, but not 203. How small is it compared to the other two, and does it also have the dry sauna?

All I know of 203 is from what I've read here. I know there was that one guy who was disappointed with it; apparently it's the smallest of the bunch and doesn't have a jacuzzi.

I've seen the inside of 202, it's quite nice, but far more than what my cheap style needs.  The apartment rooms would be my upgrade choice if I ever felt like spending the money for an upgrade. :D

310 has the loft bedroom and the monster sofa; 312 is up the spiral staircase, has two jacuzzis and is a favorite of several guys here; 311 is like a fully-furnished apartment (it was the previous owner's living quarters) and has the urinal in the bathroom. :D

HikerTom, You are awesome!! Thank you

I am confirmed for a studio apartment at Amistad for my January trip. Next time I will request a Penthouse room without Jacuzzi......I never used them before, so it doesn't really matter to me :)
