You are really thinking about this like comparing a holiday inn with a ramada. It's entirely different in CR. You need to be asking what you are looking for.

Do you really want a nice room? Feather pillows and quiet? New/old, clean/not so clean? Something near the girls or separated from the action?

Courtyard rooms at SL are PARTY CENTRAL. I don't prefer them myself, but I have to admit that one of my best visits was spent in a courtyard room. I don't like HDR, but that is my PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

Here is what I would do -- book a "modern wing" or "mansion wing" room at SL for the lowest price available. Spend at least some of your visit exploring -- look at rooms at the SL, Amistad, HDR, HLH -- figure out what you like.

Above all, don't sweat it. As I tell my best friend every time we go to CR together, "got Passport and Cash? Nothing else matters." If you have those 2 things you WILL have a good time.

Guys, I am planning my first trip to CR from Dec 10th to the 17th. From the 14th - 17th, I am being offered either a Mansion Suite or a Mansion Master Suite. What is the difference in the two rooms and is it worth it? The website doesn't offer much info on this subject. I appreciate the assistance and hope to meet some of you there. Thanks.

SR Don't worry about me, I can take alot more berating than you can dish out. I do appreciate the suggestions. I suppose I am trying to get to the same information without influencing the answer by stating specifically what I am looking for. You pointed out that the Courtyard room is "PARTY CENTRAL". That's a good thing for me- understanding that there will probably be some noise. (The way that I snore, they may pass out earplugs for the bar patrons...) Naturally, I would like a clean room where I dont feel like I have to wear rubber boots to walk across the carpet or have to dodge the crunchy spots As most of my mongering life has been spent in the Philippines, Thailand, or Dubai, I have experienced a wide range of accomodations and had fun at every single one. I will definitely take your advise and scope out the other properties while I am there. Thanks!

Staying at the HDR has its charms. Like Chica fees And some major street noise. The price you pay for being at ground zero. Stayed there once. Great fun. In Feb I will be at SL for the forth time. Also stayed at the Prez a time or two, before they got scruples. Where ever your at you will have a great time.

You can have: Russian (includes Ukraine, and several other former Soviet states), Turkish, Egyptian, Chinese, Thai, and Philipina. I have had some of the best sessions- most TDL, with Russian women. They are total freaks.

Any time you want info on Dubai, let me know. I am thru there regularly. I pulled the trigger on the SL. I'll have the "crooked finger" room for 4 days, then move to the Leon room in the Mansion section. That will work out fine as the first 4 days are usually about quantity. As I wear down, the last 3 will be about quality
