The (former) back bar is now a VIP casino / poker area. They put in a new bar along the side of the back room, where some slots used to be. Definitely gives the place a different, smaller feel.

just heard they took out the back bar at the Del Rey is this true?am not talking about the blue marlin or the bar thats in the lobby. does anyone have any info? thanks |

Do you know if its open yet(the back area)? last month they were near completion. |

I'm going to miss that back bar. It was great to just sit there and watch all of the action unfold in front of you in the cafe area. |

There is still a bar back there, but it's off to the side and a little smaller, if I remember correctly. |

Had a very profitable couple of days Sat and Sun in the new D.R. poker room this past (labor day) week-end so I for one am glad for the new remodel! |

Here's the key to win at poker in San Jose.... patience. Most of the players play very very loose. Big pots with small cards. Just sit back and let them walk right into it. |

They also have a REAL Roulette table there. Not like that lotto version in the main part. I did very well on the real table.DR |
