Had to make last minute arrangements and ended up at the Presidente. I have heard they are not as accomodating to us as in years past, but do they give us a hard time? Anything I should be aware of that might interfere with my activites? Info would be greatly appreciated before I get down there.

My take on the Pres is they permit guest but they make the call on who to let in.... and I guess they have many reasons to put the big stamp NO ENTRADA

Yes, unfortunately ALL the friendlier hotels were booked. Hoping for a last minute cancellation somewhere. Thanks for the heads up.

Twinkie1532 the Pres. has a chica dress code and enforces a blacklist of chicas that have not complied or have been banned for other reasons (like stealing). It can be a minor inconvenience at times but IMO is a fine hotel so don't sweat it, you will probably enjoy the place. If you find a lady to your liking that's dressed like a total slut or is on the blacklist you do have short term hotel options.

The Pres is trying to change their image and clientele. You can minimize the impact on your mongering by telling the prospective chica where you are staying early in the negocio. Ask if that is a problem. Many girls are banned from the Pres, some for good reason and some for really frivolous crap so don't get too worried if she tells you she is banned from the Pres.

If I were you, I would keep the Pres res but I would also let Sportsman's Lodge know that you would like a room for the dates and have them put you on the cancellation list. Maybe La Amistad as well. Chances are that you will have a choice of hotels rather than being stuck with the stuck-up Pres. JMHO.

T1532, in an emergency at night if the Pres. refuses to let your pick from the DR in just go round the corner from the DR to Hotel Asia. It is rather crummy but for $10/hour should serve your purpose and no need to bother with taxis.
