After going through a lot of posts under hotels thread I finally realized that the two best hotels to stay in CR are SL and AMISTAD. Both hotels have excellent staff and the owners pretty much take charge of everything. Both offers great discounts on their rooms.

My question is about the regular room at both of those hotels. I know at SL the standard regular room goes for $59/night and at AMISTAD it is $60/night (for AC room). Which hotel do you recommend if I were to book just a regular standard room?

I've never heard of a $60 room at LA. The lowest priced room with AC is the deluxe queen at $69.

I've always found the deluxe queen room to be quite sufficient.

Yup.. same 15% 25% 35% tiers.

Thank you ALMOND and SRILM. I really appreciate your feedback. Maybe I get to check out the regular room at SL during my first trip. If I like it then it will be a go for my Nov trip.
