Just thought I would pass along some things I've heard from hotel owners in the area. Bookings are very slow for September and most hotels are either gonna offer pretty low prices or will be open to bargaining. Should be some real deals out there if you are coming to Jaco. |

They'd have to pay me to go there. |

Orange, you do have to tell the story of what was once done to you in jaco! haha It's a little too personal to not have a story behind it. |

Hotels all over the country are having problems with empty hotel rooms. Hell... even the Hotel Del Rey is advertising discounts in the paper every day! The effects of this shitty economy are being felt worldwide. Unfortunately, I don't think we've seen the worst of it yet. ![]() |

I hate to say it, but I think you are right MG. And just as a general rule, don't fool with a hotel that won't bargain with you for the next few months. |

It was slow in Quepos back in April, too. My fishing buddies and I got beach hotel rooms for $50/ night and a full day of fishing on a 37' boat for $950. 2009 seems like a good year for very affordable CR vacations. |

In June I had some incredible deals in hotel and restaurants on the Guanacaste beaches. Except for the fact that I like having a rental car, I found it difficult to spend the amount I had budgeted for my trip. There are deals everywhere, if you can travel. |

Hey 3rd world Could you tell me if the Pacific Bistro is still open? I know that he had been talking about going to Panama, and haven't seen him in a year |

Diablo, Pacific Bistro shut down a while back. Can't remember the month but I want to say at least 8 or 9. |

I like the Cocal for playing poker. They have a nice room upstairs. Nice hotel too. Had some friends stay beachside a couple of weeks ago. I think they paid $75 per night. After this surf contest is over, prices should go down. And in September you should be able to get lots of rooms in the $60-65 range. |
