Mexicana air has a sfo<>sjo flight on their website right now for $200

Anyone flown with them? Searched around but did not find any direct info

Worst airline ever. If you have plenty of time for a layover in Mexico City and an extra stop at the Guatemalan airport then save the few bucks. Otherwise skip them.

The fare is $200 but the taxes and fee's are another $257 on top of that. Still $457 is not that bad a price and the one I looked at was a 1-stop flight (in Mexico City) but had a 7 hour layover both ways. You can do better with United/Taca.

When it comes to airlines bookings, research and flexibility are your best tools. Try different days on different airlines. If there is that much of a price difference then book Mexicana, otherwise skip them. That 7 hour layover can turn into a 24 hour wait. Good Luck!

i always expect taxes on tickets, but taxes > ticket price is a new one on me.

You know it's not reall taxes right? It's a way to disguise a higher fare. The taxes are included, but the rest are airline"fees". The fees are the difference between the hook fare to the real fare less taxes.

oh I know the first price you see is never the real price, and whether it's taxes or fees is little difference to me. Still $$ out of my pocket.
