I'm staying at SL.. I dont think there's a pool there.. Where can we go to chill at a pool during the day in San Jose? Any nearby hotels with a decent pool? We are willing to pay a couple of bucks to check it out. thanks Jimrock |

The best western Irrazu has an outdoor pool. The downtown one might. And the holiday Inn has an indoor pool. The Hotel Marie Calari has a nice outdoor set-up. But it is far from Sl and expensive. I am sure the Intercontinetal hotel in Escasua has one but I have not seen it. |

Where is Hotel Europa in relation to Sportsmens Lodge? Has anyone stayed there and how was it. My brother is coming with me for the first time and the dick wants a swimming pool. Interested in hearing the pro's and con's of this place. Thanks.. __________________________________________________________________ You Honor I didn't pay that woman to have sex, I paid her to leave!! |

I believe this question was covered 6-8 months ago; I forget the consensus pick but it was generally agreed that an indoor pool was best due to the lack of pool heaters and sunheat strong enough to bring warm temps to the pool. The Hotel Santo Tomas has a small pool but it's not monger-friendly--don't know if the pool (adjacent to their restaurant) is available separately. ____________________________________________________________ OK I went into the Search function, using "Swimming" AND "Pool" as keywords; here's what I found: https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=27309 https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=23446 |

Hotel Europa is on calle central and avenida 3 y 5 which is about 10 blocks from the SL. I do not think most hotels in SJ, which have pools, open them to non guests. The pool at the Europa has been reported to be in the shade most of the day and therefore rather chilly. |

![]() Think you have the Hotel Europa confused with the Raddison Europa. Europa in downtown San Jose is a older property and while supposedly not bad could hardly be classified as "upscale". ![]() |

I just looked at this post and thought I was in the Twilight Zone. ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm seeing advice from Irish Drifter!!! Then I see his posts were 2009, RIP, old friend and fellow monger, your comments will be missed, and I appreciated the bottle of wine you brought when I had my famous Italian food cookouts and everyone else brought just their appetites... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If anyone is currently looking for a pool, at the Barcelo hotel athletic club you can buy a day pass for the pool. It is a very nice pool with a rancho bar and grill. I wouldn't show up there looking like a dirtbag or with an inked-up skank though. |
