Post subject:  Suggestions on hotel for a short notice trip?

I have carry over time from last year that has to be used or lost.

I was planning on possibly doing a thursday-sunday trip next week.

It does suck since the flight leaves Sunday morning at 8am, so I will have to get up at around 5AM!!!! So my saturday night will be an early one.

I would love to play poker, so if games are happening, please let me know.

I have been reading about Relax and it seems like a must do.LOL

I plan on visiting the HLH and doing a few hour sessions

Having lunch at SL and doing a nice afterlunch session.

and maybe DR, but last time it was not really my scene.

My question is mostly, where to stay?

I have stayed at la amistad last time. But the action is all at the SL, so it seems it would make more sense to just stay there?
But doesn't the bar close early at SL? Plus no casinos. Can I bring chicas back to the SL with no fee or problems after hours?

It seems like with the rates the way they are, it makes not alot of sense to stay at the HLH. I did see the rooms last time I was there and they seemed nice. But if the regular rooms do not get you a discount on the girls, why not just be a walk in? Have a few beers, find a nice chica and do the hour session.

So, how about DR? It seems dead middle in the action. Girls at all times. food, drinks, gambling all in one place. But last year, when I was there, the girls seemed all too business like and defintely lacked the GFE that SL and HLH had. How are the DR rates? Do they charge a fee for guests?

Any other hotels? Suggestions? is this the rainy season? temps?

Sorry for all the questions. I feel like a newbie once again. But this time I will be solo, so it is like being a newbie once again.

DEPENDS ON A LOT OF THINGS. YOU PREFERENCES, YOUR BUDGET, ETC.

But doesn't the bar close early at SL? Plus no casinos. Can I bring chicas back to the SL with no fee or problems after hours?
BAR CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT. AMON PLAZA IS A SHORT TAXI RIDE AWAY IF YOU NEED A CASINO. NO PROBLEMS BRINGING CHICAS BACK AT ANYTIME, DAY OR NIGHT. JUST TRY TO KEEP IT DOWN IN THE HALLWAYS AND COURTYARD WHEN BRINGING CHICAS BACK TO YOUR ROOM AFTERHOURS, THOSE WHO AREN'T phucking ARE SLEEPING.

But if the regular rooms do not get you a discount on the girls, why not just be a walk in? Have a few beers, find a nice chica and do the hour session.
THAT IS WHAT MANY GUYS DO. THERE IS NO DISCOUNT ON CHICAS IF YOU STAY IN THE CHEAPER ROOMS, THE DISCOUNTS ARE FOR THE SUITES. SOME GUYS LIKE TO BE THAT CLOSE, EVEN IF THEY PAY FULL PRICE FOR CHICAS.

So, how about DR? It seems dead middle in the action. Girls at all times. food, drinks, gambling all in one place. But last year, when I was there, the girls seemed all too business like and defintely lacked the GFE that SL and HLH had. How are the DR rates? Do they charge a fee for guests?
FROM WHAT I HEAR, THE ROOMS SUCK. AND THEY ARE IOVERPRICED. THEY ALSO CHARGE $10 CHICA FEE TO BRING GIRL UP TO YOUR ROOM.

Any other hotels? Suggestions?
YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET A ROOM AT SL SINCE IT'S SHORT NOTICE, BUT AMISTAD IS JUST A BLOCK AWAY FROM SL. AMON PLAZA HAS NICE ROOM AT $70. BOOK THRU NIXON ( PARADISOROOMS@HOTMAIL.COM )

is this the rainy season? temps?
THE TEMPS ARE USUALLY MID-70'S AND IT RAINS IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON FOR AN HOUR OR TWO. BUT IT VARIES, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T RAIN AT ALL, AND SOMETIMES IT'S A MONSOON.

SL's bar is open till midnight???

Is HLH walking distance from SL?
Let me ask you. if you were at the DR or Clarion at night. would you take a taxi back to the SL or walk it? I usually like walking after leaving bars, it sobers me up a little. That is what I do in Thailand and Rio. But last time in SanJose, I was staying at Balmoral and it was only a few blocks away from DR.

Yes to both of your questions. Orange pretty much said all that needed to be said. Have a good time! And if were me i would take a taxi at that time of night due to the recent reported escalation in crime in that area you are talking about.

SportHobbyist your first move should be to join the board as a VIP member.

You still have time to join for your upcoming trip, you can pick up your card at HLH.

I suggest the lifetime membership if you are going to make this an annual trip. Depending on your hotel even the lifetime membership could pay for itself this trip, plus you'll get discounts on meals and chicas that are on your stated itinerary.

And I think you'll find the VIP map invaluable, it will answer many of your questions.

It's a pleasant downhill daytime walk, but later at night particularly if alone you are better off in a cab. Should cost about a $1, less than 500 colones unless you get one of the SL guys who try to charge 1,000 or 2,000 even for short trips.
