Post subject:  Question re connecting in MIA

Hey guys,

I've booked my flight to MDE from MIA for LD weekend on Copa, now I need to book my connection from & to Toronto. I'm arriving in MIA at 4 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Delta has a connection for Toronto departing at 6:30. Can anyone speculate whether this gives me enough time to claim baggage, go through customs, & check in with Delta?

I could catch a later flight with AA (8:20), but they pissed me off by cancelling the flight I originally wanted to MDE, plus I have more Delta miles, so I jump on every opportunity to build it up more. If I can't fly Delta, I'm inclined to maybe crash in Miami overnight & fly out early the next day, but I'd really prefer if I could make that 6:30. So, any chance of that?

TIA

That should be enough time as i usually connect through Miami(i'm in Medellin almost every month)and i have never had a problem with a 2 1/2 hour window for the next flight. The only problem is that it's a holiday weekend and the traffic is going to be heavy. I'm in Medellin from September 3rd-8th so i'll see you there! 8)

you will make it.....dont worry !!! its seems like you wont have enough time ....but i have made it everytime ....dont piss around ,keep moving ....find out where you need to go and just move ....go as far to the right as you can go when picking a imgr. line ....seems the futher to the right the faster (not sure if that's true but its what I been doing on the last few trips and its been working out)

Thanks guys.

Dr Form, I'm there the 3rd to the 8th as well, staying at MM. Hope to see you there, it's my first time in MDE & I'm going solo. I purposely chose the 8th to return hoping I'd miss most of the LD traffic on each side.

Chilimike, I know what you mean....when I went to Colombia last September, I flew Avianca from MIA to PEI & back & US Airways from MIA to YYZ & made it with tons of time to spare. If worst comes to worst, I miss my flight & fly out the next day...my job is flexible so it's not a huge deal, but would prefer to get home without burning another vacation day.

Not sure I can take your keep to the right advice, might not work for me since I'm a Canuck.
