Hello everyone.
I'm heading down to CR for the first time in 5 years. I must have made 5 or 6 trips between '01 and '05. So now its time to get requalified. In my previous trips I stayed in many of the popular hotels but never in the Sportmens (allways booked) so this time I'm lucky enough to get a res for next month. However I must change rooms once during my visit. I have a Jr suite in the modern wing then a jr suite in the courtyard wing. Anybody tell me the difference? Pros, cons and decriptions apprciated. The res agent was so busy while I was on the phone with her I didnt bother to ask.

BTW is the Key Largo still going? They used to have some awesome salsa bands every night , hope thats still happening

Thanks Mucho!

courtyard wing is before the bar, modern wing is pass the bar and the room are a bit nicer imo. depending on your room noise level could be a issue in both wings.

key largo is still going, theres a live band there but i wouldn't say there are awesome.

BTW welcome back to CR

I don't think there isa comparison. The modern wing is much better because of location and much cleaner and updated-new.

I am not sure which room in the courtyard is considered the junior suite, but the modern wing is very likely to be nicer.

That would be Felicidad, the first room on the left as you enter the hotel. FWIW, I've enjoyed the room the few times I've stayed there. Very large, big bed, nice desk, and cozy. Can be a little noisy from the clip clop of chica high heels as they walk in and out, but that never bothered me.

I agree. This room wouldn't be my first choice but it isn't bad. There's a couch in the room that's perfect for a chica to bend over on. I can barely fit in the bathroom, but overall it's a good room.

Yes and they recovered the couch during the remodel, wiping out years of accumulated history in pecker tracks.  8)

The modern wing suite is set off in its own area and it is "modern", like todays Holiday Inn quality. The courtyard rm opens into the courtyard. An area where everrybody congregates, drinks, eats and watches TV. You might not want to open the door not fully dressed. This room is no comparison in cleanliness or comfort. It is ok, motel 6 quality possibly but I think you will prefer the Moderrn wing. :)

Looking at SL's website, I see three standard rooms (regular 59, large 69 and deluxe 89). Whats the difference between the first two rooms (regular and large)? And what's the difference between a deluxe room for 89 and a junior suite for 99? Im thinking of staying for a week or more...so the lower priced option would suite me better. Are there any regular or large rooms suitable for a longer stay? And are there any of the lower priced rooms in the modern wing?

welcome aboard, breadman. The questions you asked are best answered by the SL staff. I suggest a phone call with you list of questions. None of us knows the ins and outs of SL as well as the staff.

Word of advice: Spend a few more dollars on a nicer room. No reason to save a few bucks and have less than a stellar stay!
