Anyone hear of a Gulch stabbing lately? Got a report that a chiquitita Tica working ad Vanessa in the hotel was cut up by her deranged tico marido as she walked with her client towards the Presidente. She is in San Juan Del Dios Hospital...Think the gringo got his face slashed as well... Any news? PR |

If things have really gotten to the point that you need to take a taxi for the ONE BLOCK to the Presidente, then IMHO one should really start really re-evaluating whether one should be in the Gulch at all. Wouldn't a deranged tico novio or esposo just as easily lay in wait with his knife on the sidewalk right outside the doors of the HDR and attack his chica as you're hailing down a cab? How many of the chicas stepping out of the HDR with their gringo catches have been similarly attacked? Is this some sort of epidemic situation that we need to be aware of and on guard against? Or is this just another in a long line of stories of violence all over the Gulch and San Jose? If you're walking with a chica from the HDR to someplace like the SL, then you may be well advised to take a cab just as you've always been well advised to, but as a protection against MUGGERS not jealous esposos. |

Ticos are jealous mofo's and he was tired of being lied to by his novia. She wasn't sharing her considerable earnings with him, he had to take sloppy seconds or thirds behind the gringos he hates. Enough became enough and being a Tico,he let his emotions take over

Rascal, I just looked that up and it was quite a story. I can see why you found it so scary. The good thing was that, unlike this latest incident, no one was stabbed and wound up in the hospital and you got an over the top phenomenal session out of it. More to the point that I was trying to make, whether you took a cab to get to/from there or not would have had no bearing on what happened to you inside. I'm sure there are more than a few jealous tico novios out there (and many many more that are just happy that their novias are bringing in lots of money from their gringo customers), but the place where these novios are most likely to confront their novias is first when they get home, secondly POSSIBLY by storming into their place of work (which is what happened in your case) and a far distant 3rd possibility when they step out of that place of business if its a place where they're barred from entering. I don't think an enraged jealous tico is likely to wait until you've walked around the block. |

A friend of mine and I were walking to the Morazon at around 10pm and he was about 10 feet behind me and was pick pocketed by a group of trannies walking past us. I told him to watch out, I could barely tell him they were dudes and they were running to a taxi waiting at the corner and gone in a flash. He was only carrying a small amount but he was mad as can be and a bit embarrassed as well. We called the cops but you know where that goes, lesson learned. |

DR Dave where was it you were walking from ?? you must of been coming from the sportmens or somewhere down the hill to cross paths with them and if your on that trail at 10 at night walking ....your putting yourself in a situation that someone with 100 posts should know better...but glad to see they only got a little .... |
