There is Papagayo Country Club. Maybe the WORST golf course I have ever seen in my life time, yet they charge like a Colombiana. Just because they have country club in the title they think they can charge $100 for a round of golf. I would not play it again unless they paid me a $5k appearance fee and provided a helicopter to take me in (road was so bad took the muffler off my brand new Toyota Prado about 2 years ago). Four Seasons Golf Club is about an hour or little less drive from Ocotal. Required to be a guest in the hotel, average room rate over $1000 per night and green fees are about $200 for hotel guests. One of the most beautiful golf courses in the entire world!!!! Reserva Conchal is about hour to hour and a half away, green fees a little less than $250. Robert Trent Jones design, good layout but this time of year it sits really low on the land is Phucking hot!. Hacienda Panilla, have to be a guest at the new JW Marriott. About 15 minutes further than Conchal. Green fees in the neighborhood of $200. Good greens and decent layout but not all that exciting. |

Valle del Sol is the only course I play in CR. It's closest to SJ and a nice enough course to get away for a few hours. You can get a caddie for $10 a round and he does everything for but hit it. Cujo |

Better yet… Skip CR and go to Pattaya and play world class golf courses for less than $60 including caddie (female) and cart… BJ is $14 extra. ![]() Nicholas’s Laem Chabang, Siam CC Old Course and Plantation course, Nick Faldo’s St. Andrews Thailand and about 15 more courses all within 90 minutes of Pattaya. Just a thought. ![]() Mendo |

Damn. That's outrageous! Must be inflation!!! If I hit the links with a "willing" female caddie, I'd never make it onto the back 9 !!! ![]() ![]() |
