It's very strange how flights from Detroit to SJO is around $300 when everywhere else seems to be a few hundred higher. It costs me around 600 from LAX and around 400 from houston, but detroit through houston is around 300. Its a long haul, but I work in california and my office is in Ann Arbor so I might just drop into the office first.

I can't figure it out either, maybe the airlines feel sorry for us stuck in Michigan. I have got a ticket to CR as low as $262 over the years, and in 3 weeks I leave for Panama on AA for $336.

I’m always surprise at the quotes of the guys in Houston. When I flight Continental, one of my stops is in Houston and I never paid more than $320. Just got two RT tickets from Chicago to CR stopping in Houston for $288 each. Weird.

Not everywhere else and not so strange. Spirit Airlines has been keeping the prices low in markets where they compete for awhile now (Detroit included). I mentioned this a few weeks ago here:

I'm flying this month and again in May from Detroit for $277 r/t all-in.

Grab them while you can.
