Wow. Good article. Now Spirit is going to charge you a fee - simply for buying a ticket ?!?!? This will certainly piss off a lot of people. I've heard lots of good and bad about Spirit, but unfortunately most of the opinions I hear are negative. It'll be interesting to see how all this shakes out.... :?

Whenever they advertise something like $39 each way, after all the fees ad up, it becomes about $100 more. Sometimes higher. Horrific customer service but still have great deals if you catch them. And I believe the official
MONGER AIRLINE....just look at their ad slogans and monger routes. That would be a good one....an airline that only goes to all the hot monger destinations. Make it like fractional ownership. And of course, equipped with in the air porn, booze, and chicas at the ready.

Can mongers support such an endeavor? Alright guys, taking investor apps

Yeah, but after almost 6,000 posts, I finally found out that I've been doing it all wrong, and wasting my time in the gulch, drinking, chasing loose women, shootin' the shit with friends, fishing on the coast, doing day tours, taking care of business, travelling around the country, befriending Tico's and numerous other stupid things!

I think it's time to re-set my post count back to zero. This way, I can start all over again - and start taking my trips using someone else's game plan, and stop thinking and doing all the other bullshit, and focus on laying the pipe to as many takers as possible. Then I'd feel much more deserving of a ridiculously high post count! This will be my last post!!! (NOT!!!)

Well at least you wont go another 5 years of partying, hanging out with friends, chasing chicas and the next drink or fishing on the coast. That's total bullshit. You may now lay some pipe sir 8)

Meh, Spirit Air is a fairly close copy to Ryan Air.
Its whole marketing plan is based on thee cheapest fare; whatever it takes. Its an airline designed to give up everything you had, for what you need to survive.

If history is any indication, and we use Ryan Air as an example. They will survive.

Low cost carriers just make sense for short haul flights. When you don't need meals, pillows, blankets, drinks; why are you paying for them? As long as the line is drawn at a certain point, and trust me it will be pushed, people will forever buy into these carriers.

For example in Asia, you dont even get seat assignments with some of the low cost carriers! But you can get from Philippines to Thailand for 100$ pretty easily, oppose to the 300$+ most of the "normal" airlines charge.

Trans Atlantic-Pacific travel is a different story though. While Im sure if I knew the airlines assessed costs of pillows, drinks, food per passenger ( which are incorporated into the ticket price ) I would rethink. But, i like having everything available all for free when it comes to 10+ hour travel. Its almost a given your going to want to eat, need a drink, take a piss, etc.

Also, on the topic of customer service.
Maybe its just me, but I actually don't mind when airlines like Spirit give you the run-around or BS answer. You almost expect it.

Its when airlines like Delta or American or United who claim to be running a tight ship, a professional service; start to screw you over that pisses me off.

It would actually be quite refreshing to have an airline that was just blunt. You know the all to typical flight delay at the airport, and you get 50,000 answers as to when it will take off or why its delayed, constantly gambling whether to switch flights, reroute or stay. Hell, Id love to have a guy come on the microphone and say "Well folks, were not taking off at the scheduled time because we don't pay people enough to show up on time, and hell your to cheap to really matter so either suck it up or pony up a few more dollars and fly with someone else"
