Had an unfortunate situation with a Taxi Driver during my stay at SL. I don't want to go into the details but Carlos (SL Manager) found out about the situation and took immediate corrective action that exceeded any expectation of mine.

Every time I stay at SL someone on the staff goes out of there way to help me out.

SL will always be my first pick for accomadations.

Thanks to Carlos, Manfred, Susan, Lauren and the entire SL staff.

Sorry I couldn't stay longer.

Yeah, my bad...will provide details but no names. Earlier in the week I walked out of SL and got in a taxi with a driver that hangs out around SL, mostly in the evenings. I've used him several times over the past year, he has always been reliable, given me good advice, taken me and chicas to good places to eat, etc..etc....

Anyway, on the way to DR he asks me to lend him 10K Colones, he needs gas and parking money at airport to pick up a fare. I give him $20 and he says he will catch up with me later that night or next day. Next day I run into him outside SL and he tells me the passenger didn't show up but is coming in later that night...ya da ya da ya da. Next day I get an urgent work related email that requires me to cut my trip short by 3 days. I have the drivers card, give him a call and arrange for him to transfer me to a hotel near the airport, have a 6 AM flight back to US next morning. We agree on a time, I confirmed it twice my telephone. tick tick tick tick...no show. I call him and he tells me he will be there in 10 minutes...tick..tick...tick... Security says, take one of the vans. I tell security, not in a big hurry and I already paid..ya da ya da.... Carlos comes out and asks, why I'm waiting....I explain above scenario...Carlos says...I know the driver, will have him pay me and tells me to get in a van with one of the SL regular drivers "at no charge".

It ain't the $20 and maybe the driver was truly "delayed", but I was the one doing all the chasing and calling.

I'm a regular at SL and SJ and I beleive your far better off in business and life in establishing long term relationships with people you want to do business with. That being said, I also believe in "keeping your end of the deal", if you agree to something "do it"...."actions must be consistent with words", if not....that's it no more business.

Bottom Line.

Thanks to Carlos and SL management for seeing a "problem with a guest" and fixing it.

P.S. Trust me I ain't a "big roller", I always stay in the $59 regular room, Carlos didn't do it because I drop big money.
