Just reserved a room at SL. Junior suite Del Rey Room for $115.00 tax included per night.

I am staying April 25th to May 3rd so eight nights.

Just wanted some feed back.

Does this seems pricey compared to other hotels?
There was no CRT VIP discount apparently, why not? any thoughts?

Does anyone know if this room is nice.

This just seems pricey as I could go to HLH and pay about the same but have $25 activities.

This will be my first trip to CR, so any input would be great.

Seafox.

It's "El Rey" (del Rey is the hotel) and it's one of the best rooms in the new wing, IMO. Did you ask for the CRT discount? Otherwise, the price seems about right, with tax included (though I don't know the tax percentage for hotels). I think the room is worth the price, though others might disagree.

If you want further info, do a search using the terms "el rey" and 'review' in the hotel threads.

I think the junior suite is $99 plus 16% hotel tax would be $115. However, when you check in or check out show them your CRT card and they will deduct 10% the room as well as 10% off food and drinks.

As far as HLH, I'm not positive but I think the $25 activities are now only for the upstairs suites which are $195 for one person or $250 for two.

You get a 10% discount at HLH as well on the $195, so $176, plus $25 fun por una hora.

Had a great time at HLH, but I was there because SL was full......

Next up Amistad 8)

The room "El Rey" is one of my favorites at the SL.

1. Huge king bed

2. Kitchenette with everything you need

3. Enclosed patio off the kitchenette.

It's actually 3 rooms, not counting a very generous bathroom with a big bathtub (not jacuzzi).

Drawbacks:

1. Proximity to the bar

2. Proximity to the kitchen

3. Proximity to the public restrooms north of the bar; in fact, both restrooms adjoin the suite via two pebbled-glass windows.

For me, none of the drawbacks are deal-breakers for me. I like the room being staggering/crawling distance from the bar.

Price: It's a fair price, because you'll never find a room elsewhere with all the same amenities at the price, especially if you like to find female companions about six feet from your door!
