Post subject:  Clarita's Problem?!?!

Hola CRT brethren,

I submitted a reservation online yesterday using the form on Clarita's website and gave a cc#. Here I am 18 hours later and still no confirmation. I have sent 2 follow up e-mails and no response to them either.

When I call the number I get a beep like voicemail but no message first. Can't seem to get a live person on the call and I am getting a little concerned. I will be traveling out there and would like to be assured of a room and that my credit card # is not in the wrong hands.

any guidance would be mucho appreciadad

I hardly think it is time yet for you to putting out the alarm bells. Apparently you submitted your form late yesterday afternoon and posted this question just after 8AM CR time this morning. That amounts to very few normal office hours, so the timeframe we're talking about wouldn't be all that much even it were for a small independent US hotel. Most small CR hotels don't manage their own websites and, even if they do, probably don't check their e-mail inboxes more than once per day. It also sounds like they may use the same phone line for both voice calls and FAX communications, another thing that isn't entirely uncommon down there. That doesn't mean you should just get a beep, but technical glitches aren't unheard of either. If I were you, I'd relax and give it a little more time (assuming it isn't even resolved by the time I post this). You have to understand this is CR, not the US. Pura Vida

The usual response time from a business in CR is 2-3 business days, but some are better and some are worse..

I think the phone at Claritas is answered at the bar,as they have no front desk as such. I wouldn't be alarmed anyway there are plenty of places to stay in Jaco as a drop in.

Good lesson here guys... This is still Central America!!! Our internet goes out all the time. People tell me routinely they call me and there is no answer, even though I have voice mail.

Internet service in San Andres Isla was the slowest I've ever seen...I was sure the hamster died in its wheel. :P
