Post subject:  To SL or NOT to SL????

I've stayed at the SL three times now and it's been great..but with all this talk about Amistad, I'm seriously thinking of changing my reservation in April to Amistad. Any comments on how you would rate the SL over La Amistad? :D

Jf- check your PM's.

I tell ya though it would be sweet if more guys did reserve Amistad so I don't have to plan trips around when my favorite rooms will be open.

Cujo – I think that we are into something here. As they see the SL and Amistad occupancy rates get closer to that 100% mark, the rest of the Hotel in the area will get an idea of what we are looking for in affordability and service. We are still long ways from that but I think that we are paving the road.

La Amistad has been the SL annex for a couple of years now. It is kinda like "Sportsman's Light" since you don't have the bar noise (you do have the train...) and you don't have the constant knowledge that you could be back in your room in 30 seconds with that little bit o' nuthin that just walked in. You may get more sleep since you don't have a bunch of degenerates to hang with all day long, but who comes to CR to sleep?

If your curiosity is getting the best of you, give La Amistad a shot, and then you can compare. Many of us have tried a number of hotels until we find one that suits our needs...and then we continue to stay there. I've stayed at SL many times and Amistad only once. I like both of them, but usually stay at Hotel Castillo.

Post subject:  Reasons NOT to stay at the SL

I can only think of a couple reasons NOT to stay at the SL:

1. Tough to get reservations.

2. If the only rooms available at the SL are the older rooms in the courtyard area, choose another hotel (particularly if you need more than seven hours per night sleep).

3. Anonymity. Other places are certainly more anonymous than the SL. As noted and as you've already witnessed, the SL is a meeting place for CRT guys, local characters (including this one little shit with perfect hair that is always either playing good billiards or making strong chica choices).

4. Price. The SL's newer rooms are fairly expensive, even with the CRT VIP discount. The Castillo is the best budget choice in the neighborhood, in my experience, although the Amistad and Vesuvio also offer good deals.

5. If that fat blind fu*ker is playing music with the (excellent) guitarist Peter, the resulting cacaphony is insufferable.

Disclaimer: I've stayed at the Amistad twice, in what could be argued at the time as the "worst" room in the place and the second time in one of the "best." I love it. Brand new beds, great staff, delicious and filling breakfast included with room. Digital keycard locks on all room doors and good security boxes. And, it's a two-minute walk for a fat guy to the SL.

I've stayed at the Castillo and like it very much. The "no-chica" rule at the bar/restaurant is a downer. Room safes are key lock, not keypad.

Finally, I have stayed most often at the SL. Great ambience, good people, good food and drink... and of course, the ladies who enjoy spending time in the bar and meeting nice gringo gentlemen. :D

I think for a special trip the sportmens is the choice...but for us they go to san jose more than once or twice a year ....its just to damm much ...my bill the last time was almost a 1000 ...yes they put a 180 bar tab on me that wasnt mine and it took hours to prove it wasnt mine (when they move you 4 times in a week) ...i can see where it can happened...and my wingmen bill was 200 less than mine though he booked the resv. and the days i was in the old wing so was he....i think the morazan is more my style for the price it cant be beat ...the rooms are clean ...they have a sportbook and casino...food places are near ....and you can find girls in the casino and sitting on the bench near the front desk...
I just dont do enough girls in the room to make the room that important ...i was getting better prices from delrey girls when staying at the morazan than the sportmens ...plus the group of girls that wont get off 80 at the sportmens can kiss my ass....i had made a reach out to a few members about sharing a trip with me to sosua ...as my normal wingmen are on the shelf...so i am coming to san jose on march 16 though march 23rd ...anyone in town that week please send a pm..(i do have a newbe with me but he only in town for 3 days)
I have my own bang bang Jr. route i go on each day ....i cant tell you the names but i can find them all...

I, for one! Most times I'm in bed by midnight, sometimes even 11:00. I do my fun in the daytime, nighttime is for sleeping. :D
