I agree with the above poster(s). If possible, re-book your trip for a different week. But if that's not an option, just go and have a good time. Easter week in CR will probably still be better than Easter week at home!

Brother PacoLoco is a dead-solid veteran of the CR scene. Read the Newby's advice Thread and you'll be in a much better position to answer your own question. Not being harsh here--my off-the-cuff advice to a newby coming down alone is --stay at the HDR but go to the SL Happy Hour and talk to the Old Sweats before making any choices. And before any of that, read ALL the Newby Forum--you'll save yourself a TON of grief, no matter where you've been or what you've done before. Welcome to the Board, Brother. |

If you are a more "girlfriend fantasy" guy, the SL is for you, regardless of your level of prior experience. OTOH, if you're into the pornstar thing, rock star thing or just the f*ck thing, the HDR is like the ultimate candy store. Most nights the HDR:SL girl ratio will be 5:1; in other words, you'll find fifteen at the SL and seventy-five at the del Rey. However, I've had better experiences overall taking girls from the SL bar than the HDR. The girls seem to be emotionally invested to a degree in continuing to work at the SL, so there's a lot less theft and B.S. from a girl you meet at the SL, particularly if you're a Sportsmen's Lodge guest. Quality: I'll catch some flack for saying this, but I think that all things considered the SL has "better" talent than the HDR. But I'm biased, as I am one of those girlfriend fantasy types.

i have stayed at sportmens lodge 5 times and took a total of 3 girls from there ....its more about when i am around them ...eating dinner (so getting ready to go out ...at lunch time ...i like the mp's for daytime action cant see paying a girl 80 that i can get the same for 20 ....and the no bbbj rule these girls have at the sportsmen is just a deal killer for me...plus when they do make the hard sell on me (at sportmens) and i tell them no bbbj ...forget it ...then they get on their holy horse and tell why they never give bbbj....but for having fun , meeting other members and having vegas style (new wing) rooms ...if 100 plus is in your budget stay at the sportmens ... I feel the delrey is a bad choice ...i met guys who never leave the place ...that 10 fee will get old fast ...and the girls wanting to get back to bar is a good point ...you may tend to get rush jobs from the pro's...morazan is a cheap room and its clean.... |

SR is dead right on this one. 
First of all, the BBBJ is *never* a deal breaker for me. The constant towel-wipe involved in many BBBJs is the deal killer.  (Reichel, formerly of ZB c*ms to mind).
That being said, I would say I get BBBJ without specifically negotiating it in advance 50% of the time. Rapport, the girls knowing "where you live," gaining comfort level, all that... it pays off huge. The del Rey is a great venue, but its size might make this comfort level impossible.
The other thing is this: While it's widely known that yes, one can pick up a chica at the SL, Sportsmen's somehow always avoids appearing "sleazy." It's Cheers, a sports bar, a pleasant restaurant with decent food at a fair price. It's a fountain and an atrium, an excellent staff and 24 hour security. Most guests are tranquilos, friendly and gentlemanly. Don't laugh...it makes a difference. 
Mike's point about $80.00 SL versus $20.00 MP sessions is well-taken, and is good advice for guys whose only concern is busting a nut with a hot-looking girl. For those of us who enjoy the illusion of cultivating a relationship, having a romantic date, hanging with the girl next door or whatever...the extra cash might be worth it. Vale la pena. , but I truly respect the SL. The smaller size, friendlier and largely less mercenary vibe, and all other aspects make it suit me.
One more thing: I don't want to sell any other area lodgings short. Each offers its own advantages and disadvantages. CRT'ers also congregate at the Hotel Amistad, Castillo, HLH, Clarion Amon Plaza, Dunn Inn and Vesuvio. Post-debauch debriefing over the guest-only (?) breakfast at the Amistad can be a great source of reviews, street directions and info.
Whatever your choice, I know you'll enjoy your trip.

I agree with Srilm and El C. On a Thur-Fri-Sat, SL will run more like 25-35 chicas (yes, El C, it is becoming more popular with the ladies). Their is no BBBJ policy at SL. Even the most hardened SL pro will drop the rules with the right motivation (and I don't mean money). YMMV. Just like a request for cien, it is her initial proposal. Guys who immediately walk when a girl sez "cien" miss out just as the guys who walk at BJ con condom do. Work on it with good humor, let her know that you are squeaky clean and that you really haven't had a satisfactory covered BJ and she may acquiesce. For you BBBJ guys, one of the best BJs I ever had came from a chica who had me convinced I was getting a BBBJ. QBF (i have always enjoyed your posts and respect your views on san jose) But you wrote NEVER how many is that number ? 1, 50, 100 ?? as i posted my stays at the sportmens have been good but like i said I have only taken 3 girls ...everyone of them on my last trip in Oct when they made their play for me (my money) when I ask about bbbj was given a flat out NO and that includes all the girls that seem to be the main players ... My wingman took at least 5 with the same results ...all cbj... if you say they all give it to you ,,,please share the reasons ??? I am nice to girls, I buy drinks, I take up to 3 showers a day (at least 2) I am posting results that someone like myself should expect if staying there....And then there is that $80 price they think they all should get...which is 30 to high for my taste...I got sick of that price so fast the girls stop coming around me ...I went and told the main group on the second night while we were eating dinner ...that I only pay $50 AND NOT A DIME MORE ....to say the least they had their fun with it but they knew I was serious .... |

It IS possible that on my first trip I got CBJ with sportsmens girls... I honestly don't remember... In total, I believe I have taken about 12 sessions from SL girls... 8 of them on this last trip... Of the 8, 4 of them were repeats from ZB days, and 3 of them were friends and/or relatives of those 4... Every one of the ZB girls I've had... conservatively 5 times at ZB... so, realistically only 1 was a completely new experience... I can only speak from my experience... I paid each one of these girls 60... the one lone girl, I gave her 100 + 20 tip, and it was worth EVERY SINGLE CENT.... That one was one of those... I gotta have her, and I don't care the cost... situations... AND SHE KNEW IT... |
