Excellent sign-up for the Brotherhood, Admin1. I've walked past it a few times and wondered if it would make a good hotel option for us. Front staff seemed friendly enough when I lurched in asking directions.

This is something of a coup, as I've always thought this hotel was vehemently anti monger. I've never known anyone to stay at Vesuvio, but that ought to change. :D

Detriorating economic conditions have a way of changing philosophies. Or maybe it was a change of ownership or gentle persistance by our host, Admin1. Now the question is what's their POV about "luscious ladies" at the bar/restaurant? Time and the Brotherhood's peepers will tell.

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Do they have a guest fee?

Never a "Chica Fee"

Did a walk through of the hotel last year under the previous ownership. At first glance it gave me the impression of a college dormitory. I walked through several rooms, while they seemed comfortable I could hear guests talking in the next room through the paper thin walls.

I am not sure if every room had a private bathroom or not. Several of the rooms had multiple beds and bunk beds in them. IMHO this hotel is more of a eco tourist choice at this point unless things have dramatically changed.

Maybe we can get an update on the above from the new ownership, I was told a few months ago by Bobby P. ( a lot of us know him) that he had purchased this property and planned a remodel. I have no further confirmation on the accuracy of this....

Would that be the infamous Boom Box Bobby that would crank his music up at the SL bar until the wee hours of the morning :?:

B,

He is one and the same.

One night I unsuccessfully searched the entire bar and area for where he hid the controller for his sound dock! He has some scintillating sounds but it is a liitle difficult to enjoy when he competes (and wins) with the SL music that is playing simultaneously.

I never have been inside the Vesuvio but would like to hear a few more lively reports on the famous yellow house directly across for it, next to the parking lot, and adjacent to Cafe Mundo....goes by the name of "Club Paraja Total"

If the Vesuvio goes full monger then that is going to be one hellofa lively calle  JMHO / YMMV

I needed a reasonably priced to stay for my first 3 nights after I arrive on 2/5. The Castillo is full up those nights. I decided that I might as well take-one-for-the-team and check out Vesuvio.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Western earlier reported that he was NOT afforded the CRT discount....there is a seperate thread on this stay during the month of February 2009.

I wonder if the place ever made it right??
