This years trip is coming up and we are looking at a couple days in Jaco. Anyone have an opinion on the Copacabana Hotel in Jaco?

Would really appreciate some info. Cheers.

AT,

I stayed there for almost a week about 2 years ago. Stayed in a regular room as opposed to a suite and was well satisfied. Good AC in the room and safes to as I recall. No chica fee with your CRT card. I was there with 2 CRT buds and boy did the CRT cards save our butts that week. Nice pool area for relaxing by during the day when it gets so damn hot.

If this is your first time in Jaco I would recommend getting phone #s from the chicas in the BB at night so you can call someone for a nooner if you are inclined. It can actually be a little difficult to find daytime action here. I loved Jaco because you actually get a chance to relax some during the day as opposed to SJ where it is very easy too phuck yourself to exhaustion if you are not careful.

Oh ! one more thing, great location as it is only a 3-4 minute walk to the BB.

Have fun,
Rainman3

Thanks for the info Rainman. Are you saying that they are part of the CRT VIP program?

I agree, this is my favorite place in Jaco. The only problem is the hit or miss on the chica fee. During the off season i've not had much problem getting it waved. however during season they have a different set of rules for the CRT VIP

I usually choose to pay up for a suite that is beachside. For me its worth the extra $. It's not unusal to find several BB girls around the pool in the afternoon. They seem to come by cruise the pool for a while to see if there are any takers & then move on. This is however very iffy. Your best bet for daytime action is to arrange it the night befor or get phone #s.

Boudmon's right about hit or miss fees - they'll tell you one thing at check-in and another at check-out when the "manager no here". Ask for "no additional guest fees" written on you registration card. Copa is a great location to start the evening but all the action moves to the south end by Nacho Daddy, Pancho Vila and the Disco - closer to Hotel Casino Cocal where there are no fees.

I did quite a bit of research on Jaco hotels both on this board and other places. I eventually settled on Villa Estrellamar which has gotten excellent views, reasonabley priced and chica friendly. I have heard mixed reviews on the Copocobana as in the rooms are kind of shitty but I definately plan on checking out the bar/pool scene. Here is the link to Villa Esrellamar http://www.estrellamar.com/info.html

I would never consider the rooms shitty. I think they are somewhat overpriced but have always found the rooms to be very nice and well maintained. The help is friendly and the grounds are well kept. The fact that it is right on the beach is important for me.

Was in Jaco 7/10 - 7/21 and stayed at the copa five days. There is no more free shuttle to and from Jaco is now $85.00 charge also they are for sure charging a tica fee of $10.00.CRT did not seem to matter they never wanted to see my card so negociated $60.00 a nite paid cash and no taxes. Also at the time they were installing jucuzzis in the ocean front suites and heard people staying in the suites complaining about the noise.

Check out the Bohia azul condos nice 2 bedromm with full kitchen and washer and dryers......$185.00 per nite.

Honkytonk...the connection is VERY sporadic. I've had the best luck logging on outside in the outdoor restaurant. In the rooms the connection is very hit or miss. Mostly miss. Particularly if you are in one of the inside rooms. I have stayed in the suites facing mare Pacifica and the connection is much better. So my advice is that if you really need to be online for something important, log on in the restaurant downstairs.
