Is the HLH within walking distance of the Sportsman Lodge or the HDR? Is it safe to walk their during daylight hours? I need to pick up my CRT card, but unfortunately I do not know where HLH is located and I am having trouble DL the San Jose map. I just think the computers I have access to do not have the programs required to open the map.

I dont recommend walking around anywhere especially solo. Odds are you look like a tourist and make an easy target. My first trip i walked back from new fantasy to del rey with 2 friends of mine and we were approached by 3 chica pickpocketers near the park. They made there little move to pickpocket my buddy. Big mistake for the chicas as my two friends were cops. They got tossed to the ground and my buddy took his money from her panties and the chicas ran off. I mean whats a 2 dollar cab ride for peace of mind?

HLH is pretty close to SL. If you cannot print the map, just about anyone at SL can point you in the right direction. It is just a few blocks down the hill. No problem during the day, be careful anywhere you walk at night!

Most people would say that it is safe to walk around in the daytime. Generally, it is the case. But walking around, especially solo, even in the daytime, is not without risk. There have been reports of armed robberies at 4pm around the corner from SL.

Take a taxi, it's less $2.

From the SL to HLH walking... take a right out of SL and go to the corner. Take a right and go down 5-6 blocks downhill and HLH will be on the NW (left) corner. It used to be a blue building with a metal gate in front, I don't know if they changed the outside of it. It will probably have the name somewhere on the building in front or the side.

Yes, it's within a short walking distance from both places. I've walked to and from HLH, whether it's the HDR, Presidente or, lately, the Amistad. No problems ever, even when I left HLH at 9:00pm to go back to the Amistad. Of course, I do walk rather briskly.

HLH is now painted brown.
