Hi! I am planning a trip to Costa Rica and found a great deal at the HI Express at the airport. Is there any nightlife or any entertainment around there?

Is it ok to stay around the airport and then go to downtown San Jose for fun at night?

1) Depends what you mean by "nightlife and entertainment", if you mean this kind  no.

2) Sure's it's OK but if you plan to have fun downtown why not just stay downtown? Those long cab rides suck and will eat up any money you saved on the hotel anyway.

It depends on your idea of fun, I doubt the hotel is chica friendly plus most of the girls won't go that far from the gulch. Not to mention the taxi fare back and forth. One alternative is use hourly hotel as in Hotel Asia or Morizion. If you are only staying out there to save money you will lose any savings in other costs.

The largest casino in Costa Rica is on the same property if you want to spend your whole time gambling.

Alajuela which is a large city, by CR standards, is a short cab ride away but is not known for gringo nightlife. The Alajuela location of D'pelufos (strip club) is close by the hotel.

For real night life you are going to want to go to San Jose. Depending on traffic you will wind up spending $20.00 to $30.00 (or more) on taxis everyday.

Given the cost and inconvenience of getting to San Jose I do not think it is worth staying there even if the room is a comp. You also might get resistance from chicas not wanting to go that far away so now you also have to add in the cost of the Hotel Asia

I agree with everybody here. The taxi will cost $15 each way. Plus, the girls will want to get paid more since they will waste over an hour in transit. You will waste more money than you save, it's just too far. And many of the girls will not even want to go out that far.

Same from me Chuckee...jump off the deep end and stay downtown. The only reason to stay out by the airport for our "activities" is if you have an early morning flight the next day.

OR you are flying in to bang a new favorita for the weekend because you couldn't say no to a ridiculously low air fare, and you have absolutely NO will power

Become a VIP members and stay in town. There is a reason everyone stays in town. If you want candy, go to the candy store. Don't look for candy in the diet store.

If you have an early flight, getting to the airport is no problem. Traffic is light in the early morning. The workers haven’t gotten up yet and the drunks have all crashed their cars.
