Will the Hotel Irazu allow you to bring girls back to your room if you just walk in past the front desk. I last stayed at the hotel in 1993 and had no problem bringing my tica girlfriend into the hotel. What is the current policy.

I stayed there myself last in 2000, when you could still check in chicas. Its a waaaay different hotel now. They're a leading if not thee leading business enterprise against sex tourism. I suppose you could try to sneak them past the front desk, but they have a pretty long walk of shame and one of the hotel personnel is bound to spot the highly suspicious sight of an old gringo and a hot young chica walking stealthily through the front lobby. I wouldn't be surprised if they reported you, given their mgmt's heavy emphasis, just to protect their jobs and being disturbed a few minutes after getting to your room by a knock on the door (assuming you didn't first get stopped on the way in) or even a request to check out and leave the hotel the next day.

Of course, I could certainly be wrong, but why on earth would you even want to stay at a hotel that is so heavily antithetical to our hobby to begin with or lend it your support with your patronage. There are plenty of nicer hotels (even US chain ones if that is your preference) that are closer to the Gulch and much easier to take a chica to. And if for some reason you need to stay out closer to the airport (eg for business reasons) there are also other hotels that will be more chica friendly than the BW.

Also bear in mind that chica check in is not just meant as a process to protect the hotel and inconvenience you or perhaps have to pay a few bucks more in guest fees. It also serves to help protect you if something goes wrong back in the room. For example, she could slip you a mickey or grab some valuables and run if you turn your back and go to the bathroom or, almost worse, find a once sweet affectionate chica turn into a loud scene making shrew who refuses to leave after you refuse to pay in advance, just to name a few possible scenarios. Of course those things could still happen if you check her in first but are much less likely if she knows her name has been recorded or that her cedula has even been taken and won't be so easily returned without your say so.

Defnitely pay attention to that part by Prolijo, Carlos. That can save your mongering gringo ass in so many different scenarios :!: If you cannot switch hotels for whatever reason, do a search on Hotel Asia for your chica activities.

The word on the street is to avoid the place. You may find some nice condos for rent in the neighborhood, though. I use a timeshare about three to four blocks from there, and the security office is very chica friendly. They do, at times, take the cedula for your protection and theirs. I have no problem with this. In fact, I tell the chica to leave it even if the security guard does not request it. It protects me. Professor does not need problems. Ahem.

This is part of the campaign against prostitution. They are very happy with busloads of sports teens.
I was at the bar when three busloads of 14 to 17 year old girls got off for soccer tourneys.

They have positioned themselves as a group hotel focusing on youth.

They still have free drinks at the bar 5 to 7 and good dancing but if you bring a chica there you will be refused.

They make more money off the buses. I saw 95 rooms booked in 15 minutes. More profit than gringos with chicas and a better environment.

Better stick with flea bag HDR or Castillo. But, watch out by Castillo 2 motorcycles always cruising the area looking for over weigh gringos with shorts and while legs and stupid shirts.

Sorry but I say it the way I see it.

Thanks for the information and update on the hotel. It is a shame because it was a very relaxed place before.
