You Silly. This forum is no longer for the purpose of providing useful first hand information. Mostly , it is for grumpy old men that don't even enjoy the time with girls anymore to bicker back and fourth. Sorry.

Ok, It used to be difficult to reserve a balcony room without a far in advance reservation. They are my preference because you can open the balcony door to get some fresh air. No other rooms in the Rey have windows that open. Also very nice if you or your chica smokes and don't want to have a stuffy room.

Also , I used to like to eat breakfast on the balcony. Also , It's nice to sit out there in the evening with a date and enjoy a drink. It's kind of romantic , I guess.

The sun comes out early about 5 and is usually hidden by clouds by 9 or 10 am so if you want a tan, do it early.

I met many of my neighbors hanging out on the balcony.

I've stayed in three of the balcony rooms. (Along with about every other floor at DR, lol) The balcony rooms are the best rooms in the DR by far. Why?

1. They are QUIETER than the other outside facing rooms. The balcony extends out from your windows/doors, creating a buffer between them and the street belows, compared to the other lower rooms without balcony.

2. On the whole, they are LARGER than the other rooms. They are wider from left to right when you walk in, allowing more space for tables. floor room etc.

3. They are brighter than the other rooms in that they have windows and doors with windows on them. If you son't want the light you just draw the shades.

4. The girls like them! A few weeks ago I had to put my hand over Cristina's mouth, to keep her from yelling at the cops on the corner below, and shooting them the bird, as I banged her from behind, over the side, of said balcony. (True story!)

5. The corner room is a full out suite with a private balcony separated from the other rooms balconies which have no dividers between them.

Negative? The back door to the balcony rooms. The door is cheap and the lock is a bad piece of junk. The doors have swelled and dried so many time, a simple push is all it would take to break in.

Go for the balcony! And if you see Cristina, tell her you want to take her from behind on the cuarto de balcon, but that she can't yell at the people below! Guarantee she'll get a kick out of it! Have fun.
