"Only two airlines —— Southwest and Spirit —— have no extra charge for booking a flight on the phone." If Spirit ever hires people to actually answer their phones I'm sure they will start charging for that as well.

One fee all the airlines are forgetting is to start charging for humans under the age of 2 to share their parents' seat. This would hopefully reduce the ones that kick the back of my seat the whole flight or cry at a pitch my noise canceling headphones can't seem to block out.

about Spirit on that chart--"up to several hundred dollars to pick seat"--they must mean pick Business over Economy class. An apples-and-oranges thing compared to picking aisle over middle seat, though they (Spirit) is going that way too. Which I won't pay so I'll most likely get stuck between 2 sweaty obesities. Oh well.
