Would appreciate feedback on Hemingway. So far, they're the only place in Amon that RSVP'd with rooms for Labor Day weekend.

Cor,

Do a search....you'll find lots of info. I stayed there several years ago. The hotel, including the rooms, are antiquated. It is an old building. Most rooms have the "suicide showers." The breakfast is basic and adequate; fruit, hard boiled eggs, toast, coffee and juice. They do have WiFi. You can prabably get a room for about $30 per night. They are not "chica friendly," with a $10 chica fee, though I think you may possibly be able to negotiate the chica fee away.

Be prepared for the "walk of shame" when bringing a chica back to the hotel, as this hotel does indeed cater to the eco-tourist crowd.

They do have a nice and helpful staff working there.

The Hemmingway Inn is a GREAT place to stay if you're a budget minded travel person. There is NO WALK OF SHAME. That's all in your head.

Yes, there is a "chica fee", but if your "game" is good....they'll cancel that with no problem. The staff could care less who you bring into the place.

The place does NOT "cater" to "eco tourists"....it caters to civilized, low key people who know how to behave. If your a "monger"......keep it low key and you'll have NO PROBLEMS.

I have stayed there will do so again in the very near future.....it's at a great location (right next door to Hotel Castillo and The Gardens; across from Don Carlos and a stones throw from the Del Rey Ghetto. The breakfast in the AM is just fine and the service quite good if you act right. Act like a pig....get treated like one.

I have never had problem ONE there. It's good for what it is.

You want A/C; a jacuzzi; HDTV; an eight bedroom suite....go somewhere else: You want good people at a more than fair price within spitting distance of the "action"....and yet not in the middle of the action ghetto? Think about it: When the lights get turned off.....everything looks the same.

I like this place.....it has it's limitations....but work with them.....they will work with you. Be the Ugly American.....you'll get that treatment. Affiant furhter sayeth naught.

It has a great location, usually has a vacancy or two, but is very basic. It's nice being to walk 50 feet over to the Gardens for a drink though.

The electricity in some of the bathroom showers is jury rigged and Isuppose electrocution is a real possibility.
