Could some one list whats still open and whats closed .
Since the big raids the other day I see some places are said to be closed .
So whats still available & open now?
As I will be soon there in 2 weeks time and I would rather be doing some fine sweet sexy chica then wondering around trying to find where to meet these girls now ! :( :( :( :( :(

The four masage parlours "clausurado" by the municipality are New Fantasy, Zona Blue, Musas and 70E, all massage parlours featured in the Telenoticias reports.

There is no way to predict what will open or closed two weeks from now when you arrive.

I had a wild little theory I'd like to throw out and get some opinions. There may be nothing to it, but..............

I was wondering if the attention was focused on Bario Amon decent neighborhoods where people have been complaining (as has been mentioned many times by members). That part is pretty cut and dried. I think we all think something like that.

But that doesn't really explain 70E's inclusion, does it? My theory is that 70E was included in the original attention and focus specifically because we refer to it as "the Dungeon" on this board. I wonder if who ever was looking to draw attention to these places was going after the ones that were in the areas people were worried about, but included "the Dungeon" in their investigation because they wondered about any potential more nefarious activities that go on at a place we would refer to as "the Dungeon". There aren't of course, and it's really a Tico place, but it probably got their attention because it would have made unbelievably salacious headlines if they had gone there and found a place where gringos go do even more dark and twisted (great news coverage) things than they already imagine in their demented little minds.

Don't mean to get too theoretical about it all, but I wondered anyway.

Well not sure but yes it just could be someone on here doing some nasty shit to us all by helping close down these favorite Mp places down.
As for the map that can be downloaded from many websites.
It also could be some of these other places we all hit for girls are working against the MP'shops do to compation for girls and our money !
Did anyone notice it was the biggest Mp's places we all enjoy they hit ??

And new fantasy was a top notch place even if it was here in ontario canada ! So maybe it could be someone has something against one of these places or maybe even a girl who worked at one of these .

I don't post alot up about me any where online as I like to leave that to their imagination. But I could careless who has a hard on to close these good parlours down but if I find out who does I will post what ever I find about them online all over the internet.
As anyone phucking with places I love to visit is fuckin with me and that is trouble for sure ! And it is hard enough for someone who does not speak spanish to pick up chica's so now I will be out for your nuts if your fuckin around trying to close down some fav's of mine!

I would take your action Firmbear and respectfully disagree. The cops show up and put the "Closed (in espanol) notice and check ID. I doubt the SJOPD has a great cyber unit. Let's not get paranoid because human nature never changes. I would contend that it's certainly politics, perhaps brought on by negative media coverage or perhaps pressure from the U.S. Gov't or maybe a nice way to get some good press in an election year. I recall talk about a grino who died at the HDR in a compromising and unfortunate, though self-inflicted, manner. Who's to say his family did not start this crusade?
Regardless, whatever is going on sucks but I don't think it will last.

I had to admit and come out clean for those that believe that a conspiracy is what closed the MP's. It was me. It was only for a second but I Phuck UP big time.

I remove my aluminum foil from my head. It was itching a mother Phucker. The phucking Martian aliens read my thoughts and let the CR police know all about it. Sorry, guys. From now on I will never take it off; no matter how much it itches. Got to go, the microwave wants to have a talk. Sssshhh…I use the stove yesterday. I feel so dirty.

Yesterday they closed some MPs on calle 6, so this is not just aimed at the gringo places or is it about barrio amon. VIPs and jet set were also closed as off last night. The dungeon has the closure tape removed so who knows they may reopen today friday.

This all started because channel 7 wanted some ratings and did a story about a place in Tibas that did not have the permits to operate. The authorities asked the mayor of San Jose to make sure the MPs there had the proper papers, so they did. And closed the ones that did not.

There is a growing movement here in CR to make prostitution illegal mainly by lying or twisting the facts. The present VP Laura Chincilla is going to run for president next time and she has said that she would like to make prostitution illegal.

CR in has always not wanted the reputation of being a sex tourist destination. They are touchy about that.

I always thought that Ticos were being hypocrites for being critical of gringos doing what they have always done. I have talked to Ticos about that and they say we gringos throw it in their faces by being so open about it. BY walking around with a pretty young thing or taking a pretty young thing out to dinner in front of their Ch*ldren and wives etc...

They tell me that is what motels and MPs are for. They are more discrete , but then again they have to be as they may be seen.

Anyway that is my take on it, dont, worry in a few weeks we may lack a few options but it will be back to normal.

If all that is true CR mongering may be a memory soon. That would suck but there is still the DR, columbia, brazil ect. Cr is always so damn convenient and easy though.
Change is the only constant.

It will all be back to normal in a few weeks, a few places may not reopen but most will.

In most countries prostitution is illegal but it is tolerated. Like ecuador and argentina. Even if CR were to outlaw prostitution, it would still exist in a large way, like it does in most spanish speaking countries. I don,t think CR would ever outlaw it anyway as most of the deputados are men.

CR has always been sensitive as being seen as a sex tourist destination. So any entity or individual who promotes that notion , especially for money, faces the risk of their wrath. Whatever that may entail.

I was there the day the news showed up. It was only a slightly weird scene. At the front desk at least.
At the bar, the girls got all excited, waiting to see it on the news. Then disappointed it was only a quick segment. I have pics of them trying to turn up the sound on the TV while the story first aired.

Glad I didn't show up the day it was shut down. Though I read, in my poor spanish, there were no arrests.

I believe it's important to realize that thes "raids" were not really only about prostitution.

The fact is that many of these locales had no fire nor safty measures in place such as emergency exit lights nor emergency exits at all let alone fire extinguishers. Sanitary conditions were also a factor so in the long run we all may be a bit safer should a potentially bad condition occur

and it's just beginning ...my guess is they will take a look at the south side of town in the near future
