It really depends how much you need internet, as we all know the "new and improved" SJO airport's internet sucks donkey dick. Also it depends how much time you will be at the airport...

Less than 2 hours, and you don't need internet, it's NOT worth the $.

More than 2 hours and you NEED internet, it's the only game in town.

realistically, the lounge SUCKS.

About internet connection in SJO, the area around the Burger King has an excellent free wi-fi. It is advertise on one of the billboards.

I haven't tried around BK, but I have almost everywhere else, and I can't get shit for connection. Signal, usually is fine, it's their crappy ass router...

Weird, I get perfect wi-fi. I even take the time to make VOIP calls.

I also have no trouble around AA's gates. Never a problem with using VOIP to tell people how late I will be delayed by AA.

I had the same problem. The signal strength is fine but can't get a connection. I thought it was my card. Free WiFi--you get what you pay for.

I use the Lounge every time I am flying home. The Bartender has a heavy hand and pours strong drinks. The internet works very well. There is also a private smoking patio if you are a smoker and private restrooms. The lounge has large flat screen tvs. There are large couchs to sit on and surf the net and drink in comfort. :lol:

Last trip back from SJO on AA routed through Miami I used the Lounge. The norm on AA last flight out is always ALWAYS late... this trip over 4 hours. Grabbed my wingman and paid $40 to relax comfortably with decent drinks, internet connection, food, and elbow room!

Is it worth the price.... Bet your a$$ it is!

I have met some really Hot South America birds that were on route to Panana or South America in the Lounge at the SJ airport.

I just used it since I had time to kill and a problem at work. Once I logged into the internet, I used the office VPN and away I went accessing servers in two states. It was quiet and comfy and not a bad place to work.

Charged it to corporate since I had to do emergency server work. It is worth the $20 to me to know I have reliable internet when I am forced to VPN.
