Yes, perfect selection. Cheap but reasonable quality. It was my first Hotel too. Make sure that you get to know Marta and Patricia. Those ladies will take care of you and guide on the right direction.

To each his own, I didn't like Castillo. I stayed there once for about 4-5 days, with a beach trip in the middle. I had the "deluxe" room with A/C. The room itself was ok since it had a window, but the bed was crappy and it kept moving around the room. Everytime I brought a chica over, we'd end up on the other side of the room. The free breakfast sucks, you need to go elsewhere to get a decent meal. Btw, I don't know if they're all like that, but I think the cheap rooms that you booked are the older ones in the main building with no windows and no A/C ? Personally, I couldn't handle it, especially for 8 days.

I could put up with the crappy room, but the thing that really bothered me was when we returned from the beach and I had no room, my reserved room was given away. I was told sorry we don't have your type of room. I was given this stuffy thing with old moldy smell and no A/C. I was told that I could have a another room with an A/C but it was bigger so I'd have to pay the difference. It was less than $10/night more, but it was the principle of it that pissed me off. They gave away my room (even though I had a reservation) and then had the balls to charge me for their fuck-up.

Notwithstanding Orange's bad impression, I like Castillo. I find it quiet and homey and close to the places I want to be. However, I always pay a few bucks more for an upstairs room on the zoo side.

Hola, where did Patricia go? She will be missed by regular guests at Castilllo.

I have to go with orange on this one. I mean, it is what it is. Its a decent place with a reasonable price but I'm the type that brings chicas back to the room. So since %99 of my phucking goes down in my room, I want a room better than just o.k...

I've stay there twice now, but have been in a Deluxe the first time and a Suite the second. I actually like the upper floor rooms with no A/C in the old part of the hotel if they have windows. The manager, Darren, is a very good guy and will work with you. This May for the included breakfast, you had the option of the toast, fruit and coffee in the Garden or a full breakfast in the restaurant.

After price, the location, location, location was the main reason for picking The Castillo. For MP's, NF and ZB are just a 100 yards away. For food, The Sportsman's Lodge and Cafe Mundo two blocks the other way. For drinking, The Irish Pub and the Blue Marlin are just 4 blocks. And last but not least, there are two bars, one outside in the garden over looking the zoo and one inside with great music and a number of working girls.

Pura Vida or is that Puta Vida

Ditto, Patricia always remembered me, I'll miss her. I like the Castillo, never stayed anywhere else except for my first trip when I stayed at the Morazan.

I stayed there for 7 days in Jan. Had the suite on the second floor. Two big rooms tv in each room large bath ceiling fans in each room. Small refridge four windows in living room. No ac. I paid 89 dollars a day. It is a very nice hotel. I also had chicas every day no extra charge.

River nailed it. Castillo is nice for us quiet slightly introverted types who want a comfortable home like place where we are catered to. And frankly the chicas who hang there (Gardens bar next door )are fewer in number, but generally low key, cheaper, laid back and muy tranquilo too.

It's my hotel of choice. Stayed there 3 times now and enjoyed it. Marta is a big help on the front desk. Patrica will be a big loss to. Darren is a big help to. The last time there breakfast was available in the Garden Restaurant.

I like Castillo. I agree with everything said above. Good and bad.

I to will miss Patricia. Marta is nice too. And Daren is a straight up honest guy. I have been there when there are preist staying there. It is like a 20 room total hotel. I agree about the girls who wonder thru. Also you can bring back ten girls. No problem and no fee. Location, Location, Location. Yet quiet and homey. It ain't for everybody. But it is for me.

As far as Patricia: I've hear two things. 1) She has been bartending at The Irish Pub. 2) She is doing some house keeping work for a friend.

She will be missed at The Castillo.

By the way I also saw "Tasha" bartending at The Irish Pub in May.
