I am going to stay some time at the Lost Iguana resort (Arenal region) and at the Punta Leona resort (Jaco area). Does anyone know if they are tica friendly?

Punta Leona is Tica friendly. But, you will need to bring her from Jaco or San Jose. Punta Leona is a very, very interesting hotel. It is a bunch of individual hotel rooms carved out of the rain forest. Impossible to "check" a guest into your room. Just bring her and no one will be the wiser.

On site, you will find an open air restaurant/bar, swimming pool and a "disco." LOL to the disco..at least that was the case many years ago when I was there. Hit the places in Jaco. Interesting tidbit, Punta Leona is where part of Jurassic Park was filmed.

The beach at Punta Leona is among the finest in Costa Rica and I've been to many in which to compare. If you want action, the hotel has a shuttle that will take you to Jaco. It was free when I was there many years ago. It's about a 20 minute ride to the main drag in Jaco.

I think that Punta Leona is a one time must for all who enjoy everything that CR has to offer. (Aside from mongering)

Thank you Dapanz1.

Seems I made a good choice.

I'm bumping this due to Dapanz1's enthusiastic review and to add the website. Rates and Tel # were hard to find--maybe in reservation portion?

P. S. They now have condo's for sale there now--unknown effect on the ambience of the area.

Now that you brought it back up, Jazzbo, I'll second Dapanz1's opinion of Punta Leona. Back in February I took a day tour to the Pacific that spent three hours there (alone, no con chica). It's definitely a great beach to lie around or to take a chica. Phuck Jaco! :D

I think that's the name--rare Pacifico white sand.
