Post subject: TACA'S Phuck YOU to FF
PostPosted: Thu Jun 19, 2008 5:40 am
So, I arrive at TACA this morning to check in...

I KNOW that they're not upgrading anymore, WHICH phucking SUCKS, but on top of that:

Only 1 bag allowance in sardine class!!!!

Can TACA tell it's FF to Phuck off any more than this?

Gold status gets me NOTHING now...

Sell off my points, and fly a real airline!!!

See ya TACA!

Did something just change - I flew this past Sunday and had no problem checking in two bags. But it does suck not being able to get the free upgrades anymore...

Before you say F*ck Taca....wait till American Airlines get a hold of ya….

American screwed me on my air miles to go to the Dominican Republic to see the Spratt recently

Here is the break-down….

$175 for 3500 extra air miles..
$145 for taxes & F-U fess
$25.00 for extra bag…
PLUS 26,500 original air miles to start with….
Total cost…$345.00

It cost more then to buy a regular ticket @ $308.00
The plane was dirty and the air conditioning did not work when the plane was on the ground…

I had a better chance at winning @ the CRAP TABLES IN THE DEL REY…..
WAIT.. There are no crap tables in the Hotel Del Rey & there is no winning against American Airlines…

I have yet to find an airline that was not deceitful in their practices when it comes to making a profit…

This airline has gone downhill in like a month. They obviously have no intelligent people working there. Getting the same answer from 2 different people is almost impossible. I was 100% loyal to them for over 2 years. But now, once I cash in my miles, they can go...

Unless they changed the policy in the last month, their website states:
Quote:
Baggage policy effective from May 2008

Economy Class

Checked baggage: Two pieces weighing up to 50 lbs./22 kg, and up to 62 linear inches/157 cms. (length + height + width).

Carry-on baggage: One piece weighing up to 22 lbs/10 kg, and up to 45 linear inches/114 cms. (length + height + width).

Here's another example of their genius:

To be eligible (no guarantees) for an upgrade, a FF flyer must purchase a coach seat in the BENEFIT fare class or higher. This means that I may or may not get an upgrade, depending on availability.

The current fare for that class is $814.

The current business class fare is $792.

So I should pay MORE to maybe get an upgrade instead of just buying a BUSINESS class seat.

WTF is wrong with these people? MUY TICO!

Not true... you got a shiny gold card and luggage tags.

Also, if you get a promotional fare coach ticket that usually gives you only 50% of the miles flown, they will double it to 100% because of your gold status. You deserve it buddy for being a loyal customer! WOOHOO!

I think that is pretty much the standard anymore. One carry on and one laptop type bag.

It has always been one carry-on. You can also bring a personal item aside from the carry-on.

I always am able to finesse the carry-on limit by making one of my bags a backpack - which is considered a "personal item" rather than luggage for all intents and purposes.

One carrier on and one personal item has been the industry standard for years. It was rarely enforced and travelers became use to ignoring it. Now that airlines are beginning to charge for each checked bags I think you will see increased enforcement of the carry on policy as people attempt to avoid checking a bag and paying $15.00.

Perhaps your definition of a "personal item" and TACA's definition are diffrent. I flew TACA less than month ago with a carry on and a small personal bag without a problem. Most airlines define a personal item as something like a woman's purse, a notebook computer, a diaper bag, a briefcase, etc. If your personal item was the size of a carry on bag they might not accept that. Many times it depends on the gate agent how strictly they enforce the regulation.

How big were your bags?

Last fall I traveled to the UK on business. On the way over, it was the standard one carry-on and one personal item. However, that was not the story coming home. In the UK you get one thing to carry on - period. If you have a laptop bag, then that is it. You must check anything else. I had to do some rearranging to make that happen. And there was no leniency on this.

It would not surprise me to see this spread. Especially now that they are charging per checked bag. Just another way to improve the revenue stream.

It's a VERY SMALL backpack. BOTH my bags fit under the seat in front together...
