Yeap - time to start building up those Taca miles again - while in the Taca office today, noticed in their company publication that come next month (July) they'll be opening up direct flights out of their Lima hub to two of my favorite places on earth - Rio and Medellin! Taca has never flown directly to either before - they had previously been limited to Bogota in Colombia and Sao Paulo in Brazil.

Probably still not ideal from many locations in the U.S., as you'll have to connect in either El Salvador or Costa Rica to get to Lima. So it's at least three hops to either Rio or Medellin. But nevertheless it's nice to know they'll be another option available.
