I'm trying to make a last minute trip over Memorial Day Weekend, and of course many hotels are booked. I stayed at SL on my last trip 2 years ago and would like to stay somewhere close by. Any suggestions? |

Castillo, Amistad all though both might also be booked at this late date. |

You can also try the Hemingway, next door to the Gardens restaurant/bar at the ground floor of the Castillo. It is cheap and decent. I paid $30 cash per night. Includes breakfast. I never brought a chica back, but I believe they are chica tolerant. Everytime I passed by the place, there was a banner out front advertising "VACANCY." Also try Hotel Don Carlos - across the street from Hemingway. I don't know about the chica policy there, but a quick search should answer that. |

Mongers, stay away. Don't forget the Dunn Inn (chica tolerant) and the Clarion Amon Plaza. Not exactly "close" to the SL, but at least in the same barrio. ![]() ![]() |
