I'm leaving from New YOrk City to Costa Rica in Aug. Can I bring lubes thru the airport? I'm thinking I won't be. If not, can I buy the ones that people recommended here in CR? |

Just pack them in your check-in luggage and enjoy. I have never had a problem with them in my check-in. |

Just make sure you comply with the TSA requirements for carry-on liquids...is it two ounce or three ounce limit per container? I don't recall. All containers must fit in ONE resealable, clear plastic bag - I think one quart in size. You may want to check the numbers on this....but I have brought oils to CR many times without incident. |

This is for carry on liquids.. 1) All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller. 2) All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. 3) Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items. By the way, the drug stores now price some 3 oz. sizes more than the 5 oz. tube... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Can I bring lubes thru the airport? If you pack them in your checked luggage, you'll no problems. If they're in your carry-on, they will question you and even make you apply some to your skin and lips to make sure it's not an explosive or dangerous chemical. |

I just pack my sex stuff in my check-in luggage. I would prefer to go only with carryon luggage but I don't feel like explaining to someone why I have massage oil, 2 bottles of lube, 50 condoms and 3 vibrators in my bag. ![]() ![]() |

Tony, I could be wrong, but I believe the TSA changed their guidelines - saying that you're allowed to carry-on 3.4 ounce liquids, due to this being a "common" size for many different types of products. Can anyone else confirm this? ![]() |

![]() From the TSA website 30 seconds ago the limit is still 3 oz... "3 ounce bottle or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure." |

They rounded it to 3oz, but in fact it is 3.4 oz. Most cologne/perfume and many lotions come in sizes of 100ml, and they are allowed. Liquids, gels, and aerosols in containers not exceeding 3.4 oz. (100 ml) each, provided they are placed together in one transparent 1-quart (1 liter) zip-lock bag measuring no more than 8.3 x 7.3 inches (21 x 18.5 cm.) http://www.taca.com/eng/oth/oabo/oabosecmea.asp |

New arrangements at the airport, the last 3 times I've flown through provide for ONLY 3 container inside each ziplock, and only 1 ziploc per bag... phucking stupid, and I've told them so, but who wins when you argue with someone in power? They do... |

It's a lot easier to check your bags when going to San Jose. I know a lot of guys don't like to check bags because of the wait but It has always been very fast getting my bags here in San Jose. Now going back to Atlanta is another story. |

If the TSA has indeed changed the limit they are not communicating it to the public. Knowing the skill & mental capacity of many of the TSA inspectors, I doubt that many of them would be aware of any change to the regulations either. I would expect grief if carring anything over 3.0 oz! |

From the TSA web site... Quote: The rule limits the volume of liquids, gels and aerosols to bottles 3 ounces or smaller (or 100 ml), in 1 quart-sized zip top bag, and 1 bag per traveler.
I guess everyone is right ![]() |
